Lucky for us, a gentleman we met in our hotel elevator recommended we visit The Cottage Cafe. What a great place. Right on Mirror Lake you have a captivating view of the epitome of serenity. We enjoyed cocktails and other libations and a great selection of shared plates while soaking up the ambiance that is "cottage life"

The lunch menu at the time of our visit included a very good selection spanning a variety of tastes, and all four members of our party found something very enjoyable. The bloody mary's were extremely good. This place seems to be very popular, and as a result is typically full with a long wait time during the prime eating times.... More

As ex-Lake Placid area residents, the Cottage Cafe was always a "must" when selecting places to dine out for lunch, afternoon drinks with appetizers, or a light dinner. But having left the area 5 years ago, we couldn't wait to sit down in this comfortable restaurant on a recent trip to our old digs. So, on a rainy day, staring... More

Limited menu, not very much food if you've been enjoying outdoor activities all day. $20 gets you a $15 view of Mirror Lake and a $5 sandwich. Wonderful atmosphere, average food. Good place for a light, casual meal for lunch or at sunset.

The food was just ok but the view were amazing. We arrived late noon in our hotel. We checked in and as soon as we got out from our hotel, wahlah! Here't the most quaint place with a gorgeous view of the lake. We got excited and we had our light meal. It was perfect for what we need preparing... More

This is a small place right on Mirror Lake but a couple of minutes walk from the heart of Main Street. They do not accept reservations so you have to wait, but usually not long. We went for lunch and loved the view over the water from any seat in the restaurant. We had a delicious flatbread pizza and drinks.... More

Several years ago we chanced upon the Cottage while walking along Mirror Lake and we fell in love with the place! Whether it a summer draft on the deck or a winter warmer inside next to the fire, the Cottage offers a great place to relax, eat, drink, and recuperate from a day of hiking or skiing. The menu offers... More

We stumbled upon the Cottage on our first night in Lake Placid and I'm so glad we did! The patio dining overlooking the lake and was quiet and very pleasant. I ordered the asian chicken salad and my husband had the jerk chicken on a pretzel roll. Both were delicious. I recommend this venue to anyone as they also had... More

If you want a cozy and friendly atmosphere with some of the best views of Mirror Lake right from your table with a limited but absolutely tasty menu selection, and a not pay extravagant prices, this is your place. The indoor dining area is just past a warm lit bar and is wrapped by large floor to ceiling windows with... More

Recently stopped here for lunch. They have a limited menu but still more interesting than most other lunch stops in Lake Placid. Beware of ordering flat bread pizza. The toppings tend to be dried out and or slightly charred. The chili is quite good and worth the stop.

Thank you for being our guest at The Cottage! We’re glad you enjoyed the chili and felt it was worth the stop! I’m sorry the flat bread pizza did not meet your expectations. We pride ourselves and think people really love our food and the way it’s prepared. Anytime you are here and it is not prepared to your liking... More
