Our Regular Stop

I take an annual trip to ADK area. After a few days climbing mountains, we come in town to get a good meal and stay in a nice hotel. One of our regular stops is the Lake Placid Pub. They recently added seating to the 3rd floor. So the wait is not as long as it used to be! The... read more

Place was very busy on a Sunday night in May, so we ended up sitting on the outside terrace. Extensive menu, including a list of their craft beers. Tried the Wee Heavy beer, very alcoholized but less robust than expected, and the other beer one level from that one (forget the name) that I preferred. Their chicken wings was a... More

I tried the sampler of beer and each was rather good. The ubu ale was excellent. They have standard pub food with a few extras like fish and chips which was a large piece of fish and good fries, and sheperds pie which was ok but not great. Decent sized and specialty hamburgers. Worth a stop for a casual night.

The building has three floors and no elevator. It has previously been a parsonage for the Adirondack Community Church, and later a nurse’s home for the Hospital Association. When we were there the second floor, where we’ve eaten and drank before, was undergoing renovations. We skipped going to the first floor which has a sign identifying it as PJ O’Neal’s,... More

Hi Roger - thanks for taking the time to review, and I am glad you enjoyed the Pub. Just as a point of clarification, we do have an elevator which services all three floors of the building. Customers can ask any staff member to assist them with the elevator to access each level. Thanks again for the kind words. Chris... More

Great location right next to Mirror lake....2 nice patios (which for me, is the reason for going).....food and beer are the usual fare..beer is made on site....but some Saranac beers don't impress me....we like 46er Pale ale when we can get it........stairs only...2 sets...so consider that....overall....most people like it.......you can walk around Mirror Lake after you eat...which is nice as... The food is amazing. The beer is incredible! Lake Placid is not Lake Placid without visiting the Pub! The only... More

Went for dinner on a monday night. We were visiting from Boston and were staying next door at the Club Lodges. My wife ordered the beer sampler and I had the german maibock. It was unbelievable. The kids ordered the cheeseburger sliders, wife ordered the mushroom swiss burger, and I ordered the "Schultzy" burger. It was a burger with bacon,... More

Good pub food and great local brew. Can purchase jugs of craft beer on-site. Multiple floors with different settings. Nachos are filling. Ubu flavored wings are delicious and pack some heat.
