For those who like a kosher deli it is an excellent choice. It lacks the atmosphere of older kosher deli's but it is one of the few you will find in suffolk county.
I love good Jewish Deli food and it can be hard to get. Zan's fills the bill for me from the pickles and fresh cole slaw on the table to the wide variety of selections. I always have my favorites pastrami and/or corned beef.. I always ask for and pay for extra lean. Both items can be rather greasy .... More
We had eaten here before and didn't have a good experience. They say the third time is a charm and that was the case today. We stayed away from the delicatessen meat and enjoyed the free cole slaw and pickels then ordered salad, fruit salad and noodles. These were all side dishes but they all tasted good. My suggestion is... More
We were in the area of the mall and decided to visit for some deli. Unfortunately, we are spoiled by the wonderful food at Pastrami & Friends in Commack. I ordered my favorite roast beef on rye but the meet was close to well done instead of rare, had lots of grizzle & was cut very thick instead of nice... More
We had a wonderful waitress who took care of a party of 12. She explained different dishes to the uneducated kosher folk and served us well. However the food was just average. Matzo Ball soup was fair and the potato salad too bland. However the sandwiches were OK and the rye bread tasty. Worth a visit for the sandwiches.
It's hard to imagine EVERYTHING being terrible, but that is actually what we found. I love kosher deli food, though don't eat it too often because of the salt and fat. But once in a while, I go for it and when I do, I want great food. Well, not at Zan's. How can you ruin a Pastrami sandwich. It... More
I just wanted a hot dog and soup. I asked that the hot dog be broiled. Mistake, it was chewy. I asked for all the fixins. Mistake, It was so smothered the roll fell apart. The Matzo Ball soup was good and had enough noodles for my taste, They do serve sky high sandwiches which are best shared. We also... More
Food is extremely overpriced. Pastrami sandwich barely had meat and was five dollars more than what I pay in Florida. Matzha ball soup was 2 balls in chicken somewhat tasteless broth with barely any noodles. Knishes delicious.
Ate here last night with two other couples. One of the couples had a discount ticket. The food in general is good and with the discount ticket it was of good value. There was lots of food and no one could finish their meal. I rated it just good because it is unlikely I would return. It was one of... More
I have never had brisket (anywhere) that didn't delight. At worst it was too greasy, but still delicious. This deli served up dry, stringy, and inedible brisket.
