Just as bad as everyone says...stay away!

I saw the reviews. I still thought it would be a nice slice of nostalgia. I was wrong. The place stinks. It smells like a cross between mildew and urine. The fried clams were good, but my son's burger wasn't fully cooked. He ate the fries but basically had no lunch. The bathroom was really dirty... read more

This place is historical. Only one left in America. In addition, the staff is friendly and the food is wholesome. Make sure to try their coffee!! If you are close by, I would highly recommend it.

We drove over 4 hours to come here- THE last Ho-Jos and we were not disappointed. The food was great- HAD to get the fried clams. YUM!!!!! Such a huge portion! My husband and I shared, he just got the salad bar which also came with soup and other hot items. The salad bar also came with my meal. The... More

Our first morning in Lake George and we were hungry. We pulled into the Howard Johnson's and the first thing I noticed......there were only 2 other cars (not including the cars of the staff) in the lot. I then got out of our car and noticed the metal roof was rusty and peeling, the painted concrete blocks outside of the... More

On our recent trip to Lake George, we decided to eat dinner here (me,my husband, & our teen son). We came for the nostalgia & thought it's a HoJo's it has to at least be ok but we were wrong! First, the salad bar was ok, but blah, not many items. There was clam chowder which was actually good. My... More

Save your money people and never go there . The food was cold and the waitress was unprofessional! On Sunday my family a total of 15 people that included 4 kids and 11 adults were in lake George for the day we all came from different parts of the country and 2 members of our party was from South America.... I wish I would have read the reviews before coming in... They are funny and so serious. Terrible experience. The place smells like it hasn't been cleaned since the 70s. "Last one standing" they should year it down. Over priced and awful food

I had to come back one more time before Howard Johnson's goes the way of the Horn & Hardart Automat, the Orange Room at Nedick's and Stauffers. I can say our meal was average but added a point strictly for the nostalgia factor. The service was on the slow side which was typical at Howard Johnson's, even back in the... More

I wish I would have read the reviews here first before my family and I stopped here for breakfast. When we went inside and were seated, the place was a little run down and dirty. Also a waitress was kind of disheveled also. Looking at the menu, I noticed the prices were kind of high but I didn't realize how... More

When we sat down we heard another table of customers complaining to the waitress. That should have been our first warning, but we thought maybe they were just being unreasonable. Our server was very pleasant but her shirt was covered in bits of food. That should have been our second warning. Our food arrived rather quickly. The milkshakes were not... More
