We love Gabriel

Gabriel 'has the hand', as my grandmother would say. He does salmon just right. The soups have always been wonderful. Can highly recommend flocking there for warming yum soups. We can't eat some of the goodies, bec of our own dietary restrictions, but hear they are wonderful.

Gabriel's is that hole in the wall you don't necessarily see at first but I'm very glad I chose to go there. I decided on Gabriel's for a date night because the other person was vegetarian and they have a ton of options. The atmosphere is kitschy eclectic. Mismatch tables and chairs, and very cozy. Our server was one of... More

A truly unique breakfast experience ... the food was freshly prepared and unusual in that much of it focused on Brazillian cuisine. The french toast was fabulous. The potatoes had an unusual flavor that made it very special. The Columbian Breakfast was very tasty and filling. The music at breakfast time was energetic/classic standards.

We only had dinner there once. The menu is unique and that is definitely in their favor! However when the menu states quinoa and instead brown rice is substituted without your knowledge.....unacceptable! This should have been told to the customers by the waitperson who had the personality of a paper towel. Therefore.....1. Need a new and pleasant competent waitperson !... More

Wonderful food, fascinating choices. I always leave feeling well fed and well nourished. The service is friendly. This is one of Kingston's best, in my opinion.

The new space is wonderful: typically funky but clean and spiffy.Really a polished look compared to how it was on John St. And the food is terrific. More choices on the menu; the prices are stil so reasonable, And Gabriel has a special touch inthe kitchen. Can't understand why someone grumbled but rest assured, you'll ear here to satisfaction and... More

What I gather from the list of reviews is that previous reviews were before the move and some things have changed. Have to say I always felt the same about Gabriels food - especially croissants and breakfast. Totally delicious. In an effort to respond to the changes of the stockade area they have changed some aspects of their vision/menu. This... More

Thank you so much for your review, we really appreciate feedback (good and bad). I would just like to let you know that we do still have the Huevos Rancheros on our menu. Also, although we do not have the Latin Combo, we now have the Colombian Platter that is very similar (rice, beans, plantains...) except with more food! It... More

The previous reviewer apparently prefers something along the lines of Appleby's. Gabriel's is all about FOOD...real food. There are very few places anywhere that can make this claim. The croissants and the scones are superb. Gabriel's entree dishes are also special, without parallel. Go there for the food.

I don't like to write bad reviews in general but after seeing all the 5 star reviews I had to try it out , first of all the place looks dumpy on the outside and it sure is dumpy on the inside , food was ok kk .. Service. Friendly. But come on 5 star. Excellent. One of the best... More

Loved the eclectic nature of this place (not fancy, but REAL) - we were the first customers the morning we dropped by and we snagged the great table in the window to look out on Kingston and eat huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos. Both were top-notch. The coffee exceeded our expectations and the complimentary scone Gabriel gifted us with tasted... More
