Late dinner....solid no nonsense BBQ

2nd time eating here. This is a solid no nonsense BBQ restaurant. Service was excellent. Decent chili for an appetizer. Meats were all slow smoked and dry rubbed. Brisket was tender and piled high with both flat and point meat and not over smoked. Onions weren't necessary. Mac and cheese and... read more

Half a BBQ chicken with a short rack of ribs and two sides. I went with the Mac 'n cheese and BBQ baked beans. Very tasty. Save room if you can for dessert, and try the chocolate maple pecan pie, which is reason enough to dine here. Kudos to the owner for allowing well behaved dogs to join their owners... More

We had the Hickory Nachos and split the Kingston Trio. Very well prepared and huge portions. The sauces were excellent and went very nicely with red wine. The price was reasonable for the amount of food we got. Brought enough home for dinner the next night as well.

We have been to this restaurant a couple of times and found it to be one of the better BBQ places in the area. Our most recent visit will be our last. We were served brisket that was dry as shoe leather. Now when someone carves brisket that dry and puts it on a plate to serve to a customer,... More

Hickory has something for everyone. I ordered a combo and was very happy with it. I always consider and reconsider what I want and this made it easy. You can get a single meat or two or three. The price is reasonable and it a few miles outside of Kingston. You will get there in less than 5-10 minutes. If... More

Been to the place three times. The barbecue chicken is great. The St. Louis style ribs are meaty and tasty but the last time I was there the ribs seemed to be reheated cause they were very dry and somewhat burnt. They do not offer baby back just St. Louis style ribs. The pulled pork is very good and the... More

Ate her with a companion. They offer a MicroRootbeer on tap which I felt was a bit sweet but my friend enjoyed. For an appetizer we split the Buttermilk Onion Rings. Huge rings but the coating was bland and leaked oil. For my entree, I ordered the Half-rack of St. Louis ribs, which comes with two sides. I chose the... More

P retty good bbq, we order the big sample plate and was delicious. Oir favorite was the smoke turkey and the ribs were to die for. We ate took the rest home and couldn't finished. The side were bland, the coleslaw was great. The place is very low key n simple.

Do not go here if you are expecting anything good. The brisket is horrible they don't know how to braise or slow smoke anything. Complete BBQ amateurs here. Brisket and ribs are chewy and tough.

Stopped here to have lunch, for only $9, got a giant BBQ pulled pork sandwich, a side, and some coleslaw. What a value! Great kids meal selections also!! The sweet tea could have been a little better!! Tasted like there wasn't real sugar in the tea!! I would say that is the only thing they need to improve!!
