Excellent Sunday specials

It was a cold and rainy Sunday, but the warmth of the service and the outstanding food made us quickly forget the weather. The escargot were (was?) excellent, tender with just the right amount of garlic butter and herbs. The soft-shell crab was the finest my wife had ever eaten. It was covered in... read more

We ate here last night for wife's birthday and it was terrific. They had a great list of specials and traditional French fare. It was hard to decide, there were no bad choices. The service was also very good.

My wife and I eat here regularly. Great menu and the specials are outstanding. My favorites are oysters, lamb chops, escargot, JJ's home made soups, filet minion and if you call ahead of time their garlic sauteed spinach. White table cloths, good ambiance. Great drinks.

We ate here, with another couple, because they had soft shell crabs, which we all love. They were very well prepared and flavorful, as was the other food we ordered. The service was excellent. My only criticism is that, for some reason, they always get confused about our reservation and either can't find it, or once, although we arrived on... More

Nice looking place, friendly staff and well cooked meal. A little pricey but not the worst value. Enjoyed the duck and a decent wine list.

Uptown Kingston - Old Dutch Church, Courthouse, offices and old buildings... but classic french food I never thought would be there. But here it is. Is it as good as classic places on Madison Avenue or Philadelphia? NO, but it is here and when you have that urge to Steak Frites, Mussel Muniere or Sole Almoadine - here you go.... More

Stopped in with my wife for lunch with my wife. We were seated by a friendly waitress. As always she was well versed in the daily specials. I had their onion soup, always good. The special pork tenderloin was great and my wife was equally impressed with her dish. Definitely a keeper!

I'm not from Kingston or the surrounding area...so my opinion is not as biased as the rest of the reviews. That said....this place is just fantastic. Having been here on many occasions, I have also found that the consistency is always there. He used to have a place in the Albany area, but it just didn't work out. I'm still... More

If I could give this six stars I would. Been here about five times for lunch and it's always outstanding. Last time I had a veal scallion special that was delightful. Had as I often do the cognac snails as an appetizer and I followed everything up with an almond tarte pie. Each time I've been here I had something... More
