My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Le Canard Enchaine just before Christmas and what a magnificent experience it was! When you step into the restaurant you are transported to France. It is a charming bistro with high tin ceilings, brick walls, and classic posters and photos. It was festively but tastefully decorated for the holidays with... More

Had dinner with a friend on Christmas eve, no reservations, but they welcomed us with a nice cozy table. service was excellent, waiter made us feel very comfortable, food was excellent, especially my trout fillet cooked to order as I am forbidden to eat nuts, so no almonds for me. Nice friendly atmosphere. Had a lovely time.

I visited Le Canard Enchaine on a recommendation and was glad I went on a recent visit to Kingston. It is a surprising find in a somewhat edgy downtown. The food and the service were very good and at lunch very reasonable for French food. I had a Croque Mousier (basically a French grilled cheese sandwich) and it was perfectly... More

I have been eating here for years and find it to be one of my favorite restaurants in the United States and last night was no exception. Food quality , presentation, service and atmosphere all first class. I had the Duck LaRange, the skin was crispy, the meat moist the sauce divine. I drive here from Westchester and it's always... Last place you would expect to find a French restaurant with fabulous cuisine. The atmosphere is what you would expect to find at a high end NYC Bistro. The pricing was reasonable, the server was attentive and caring. She was so sweet. My wife had the Cassoulet which was superb, and I had the Rosemary Chicken. I would frequent this... More

I ordered "Le Long Island Roasted Duck", thinking I couldn't go wrong, given my location. Oh dear. The duck was tasteless and the leg overcooked. I believe there is a deep malaise in French restaurants. It used to be my favorite cuisine, but standards are declining inside and outside of France.

This is by far one of the best choices in the Kingston area. It features a quaint atmosphere with high quality food. I ate there recently while on business. The group I was with all had excellent experiences. They offer a wide selection if wine. Cocktails and beer. The specials are always changing and the regular meals cover a wide... More

You will have a happy mouth after eating here. Interesting layout - three separate rooms keep noise under control and make for an intimate evening. The food was excellently prepared - an actual French chef oversees the kitchen and knows what he's doing. I was impressed that the menu wasn't all in French and the waiter was quick to explain... Snails and steak. Yes someone close to my pen loves garlic & butter and would struggle to stay alive if forced to become a vegan...Especially at this delightful French restaurant with genuine real live French chef in tow. I have just seen the wonderful movie about France and food 'the hundred foot journey.' Well this French restaurant is, thank God,... More

Not our first visit to Le Canard Enchaine (it's an annual special lunch when we're visiting Kingston). Friendly welcoming staff and amazing food. You can't go wrong with the garlic snails (among the best I've eaten). Fun "riff" on sushi for my tuna entree - hot/spicy sauce, wasabi cream and tasty rice - all beautifully composed. We split a delicious... More
