Snails and steak. Yes someone close to my pen loves garlic & butter and would struggle to stay alive if forced to become a vegan...Especially at this delightful French restaurant with genuine real live French chef in tow. I have just seen the wonderful movie about France and food 'the hundred foot journey.' Well this French restaurant is, thank God,... More

Not our first visit to Le Canard Enchaine (it's an annual special lunch when we're visiting Kingston). Friendly welcoming staff and amazing food. You can't go wrong with the garlic snails (among the best I've eaten). Fun "riff" on sushi for my tuna entree - hot/spicy sauce, wasabi cream and tasty rice - all beautifully composed. We split a delicious... More

This restaurant is a great experience - the kind of friendly, neighborhood place that one dreams of finding but so rarely do. The wait staff is uniformly friendly and knowledgeable. The food is, in general, excellent. Over the past 15+ years, we have some to this restaurant nearly a dozen times although we do not live close by, and each... More

Well, you could possibly want to marry the entire wait staff. Or just move in to the restaurant dining room. You'd be in Paris. In France. Amazing food. Beautiful rooms. Exquisite service. What more do you want? A plane trip?

Get the duck. Simply amazing. A little on the pricey side, but certainly worth it. You won't be disappointed

Every time I eat here, I feel like I am a cousin coming for a visit. The reception is warm, and I welcome the European cheek kisses. The soups are outstanding, and the desserts are sometimes eaten before the entree because they are that good! Entrees vary with the season, dinner has always been better than lunch.

Admittedly, this was our first French restaurant experience, but it will likely be our last. The food was good, the waitresses were very nice and service was good. However, nothing that we were served deserved to cost as much as it did. The trout almondine was ok. The trout was very small, and there was lots of white rice. But... More

I have gone here many times, including for years for office Xmas private parties. Mostly great food, the only French restaurant in the area. But sometimes it feels a bit off kilter there and gloomy. Waitstaff sometimes odd.

Went for Christmas Eve dinner, this was our third visit. My family all enjoyed their meals. The french onion soup is perfectly balanced with sweet caramelized onions, beef stock and cheese, I have to say it's even better then mine, I'll have to hit the kitchen and work on my recipe! The snails were tender and garlicky, perfect for the... More
