Well Worth the Drive from South Fork

We were in Hampton Bays and wanted to try someplace new. Ended up at the Jamesport Manor Inn. Pretty drive past farmland and farm stands. Restaurant is in a new building that was built to look historical. (Check their web site for an interesting backstory.) The decor is upscale but not fussy. The... read more

Visited recently with a large party, service was very good, with nothing too much trouble. Ordered off set menu, scallops to start and rib eye, food was flavourful and well presented.

The food here is wonderful and simplistic! Every element of the dish has its own flavor and works well with the other items on the plate. I ordered the halibut and my fiance order the organic chicken. I tasted her chicken and actually asked for a second taste of the asparagus (note:I do not like asparagus). The owner, Matt, was... Was a bit put off by the response to our phone request to change our reservation, because we were running late, when, even though they were open and serving, they were not receptive...turns out the place was pretty empty, and we were clearly the last patrons...it was the Wed. night before the July 4th weekend, so perhaps slow, but nonetheless,... Perhaps our expectations were set too high, but when the dipping olive oil accompanying the fresh bread is not extra virgin olive oil, they have automatically lost their audience.

Wonderful return visit (first time 41 years ago!), still fine food, service and ambience. Owners rebuilt restaurant to look just like original!

Stumbled upon, this place I found outstanding, wife thought very good. I had some great Peconic bay oysters followed by duck with peppercorn noodles, green beans and duck confirm all in a delicious lingonberry sauce worthy of the best culinary creators. The wife enjoyed a mushroom ravioli she raved about. Cool place, neat ambiance, fine food & service.

our party of 9 had a wonderful dinner. Service was outstanding, waitstaff friendly And knowledgeable. I had the rack of lamb, perfectly cooked with a nice herb crust, 2 double chops, with plenty of veggies and a wonderful sauce. Also had the appetizer of prosciutto and asparagus. Was one of the best I have had. The rest of our party... More

This excellent restaurant has added a Sunday buffet brunch which still appears to be a secret. We dined there on Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend at the restaurant was less than half full while we were there. The selections are fewer than the usual brunch buffet. Missing were peal and eat shrimp, eggs Benedict, waffles, pancakes and a selection of... More

Because Jamesport country kitchen closed , our favorite lunch place on the North Fork, we went 3 weeks ago . The country kitchen chef has moved there along with wonderful friendly Wendy who served us for years at country kitchen. We found pretty much the same menu, somewhat simplified . The food was good and Wendy was great as usual... More
