Popular place for average food

Went there for early dinner. Place was empty and atmosphere rather simple and sterile (I am not a fan of green neon tubes). I was unpleasantly surprised by El Chivito D'Oro which I thought was going to be delicious. a friend said she and her family had a great meal there. I can tell you that I was so, so disappointed. There is a line outside this restaurant, people wait for a long time for table. Why? I have no idea. Our server... More

El Chivito D'oro specializes in grilled meats among other things. The quality of the steaks, grilled chitterlings, black pudding, guts, kidneys et al is second to none. Their prices are very reasonable, the facilities clean and the staff very attentive to the diners needs but professional and never on your way. I highly recommend it.

Great find. Super friendly, warm and delicious Uruguayan restaurant. Everything was great: we had empanadas, chorizo, asado de tiro, entrana (mercifully they do a half portion) with all the sides. Don't skip the chimichurri - very fresh and herbaceous. Loved it here. Chill, great meat. And the house wine wasn't bad at all; actually, pretty good. A little spanish speaking... More

I love this restaurant. I am a meat lover and this is the best barbecue i have ever tried. The skirt steak is without doubt the best in NYC. The staff is friendly. And I find this restaurant very cheap for all the food they put on your plate. The plates are enormous. My wife usually eats pasta and she... More

Overall the atmosphere is definitely inviting, a little tightn fitting but bearable. I have been coming here for over eight years and my family loves this place. We live in Long Island and we would make the drive just to indulge. I took my boyfriend here to try the hype and he loved it. We had the churrasco which was... More
