Getting a little shop worn

We have gotten great steak here for many years. Also great service BUT the place is starting to look worn out and nothing ever changes. Even the specials always seem to be the same. Time to perk the place up a bit

Best steak in the area, no question about it. It doesn't matter what you order - all of their steak cuts are seasoned and grilled to perfection. If I had to make a recommendation, I'd go with the ribeye/filet mignon combo. Perfect size for two people when ordered with side dishes. And speaking of sides, the mashed potatoes are on... More

The trout appitizer was fine. Creating a surf and turf, we ordered two entrees for the table and shared. The huge porterhouse for $94, and although very expensive was perfect, fabulous. The scampi for $25 was good.

We shared a porterhouse steak for two that was $69, and then we ordered lard-fried onion rings and fries as well as a la carte vegetable. We shared an apple pie slice and each had one drink. The bill came to $126 before tip, so it was pretty pricey, but fun for a special occasion.

We went to this restaurant couple times 3 years ago when my son studied at Cornell University. We decided to dine there again now while staying in LaTourelle for 2 days on July. We dined there at 8 PM on Sunday July 5/th. We already knew the prices were high so this was not a surprise since this is the... More

Lump crab starter to share was fantastic. My wife and I shared a 14 ounce filet which was plenty for both of us and excellent. Pecan pie dessert was very tasty, but could've used a better crust. A minor detail. Staff was very good

I visited John Thomas Steakhouse last evening and was, once again, impressed by the service, quality of the food, size of the portions, and ambience. It's expensive but I think the value is there. My loin lamb chops were $45 and were ample size and cooked the way I ordered them. I took one of the two chops home in... More

We had dinner here when we stayed at the firelight camps. As a former server I am hyper conscious of the service I am getting when out. This service was exceptional. The food was wonderful and they overheard us talking about our recent marriage (the week before) and sent out a complimentary dessert. It is old-school in the best way.

We went here as we were staying at the La Tourelle. My crab starter was really good bit my hobbies baked brie was just ok. The steaks however were really good and cooked perfectly. The servers were a little surreal, we did feel like we were in the Stepford Wives, however we did find this amusing ... But that's just... More

For graduation weekend in Ithaca reservations open on January 2nd. A $25 dollar per person deposit is required. Our reservation was for the 2nd floor. It was a warm day and the air conditioner was being taxed. We were a party of eight celebrating both graduation and the graduate's birthday. We began our meal with a celebratory toast of champagne...
