Gone a lil downhill

The steaks are good and the prices are as usual - high. But I have been going here for 6 years and have never complained. Until recently. I really think that the quality had dropped a little and the 80s "french" decor does get tiring. I would still deal with the decor if the food was top notch... read more

We were in Ithaca for graduation and had a very good steak. My wife and daughter had steak and lobster; my son a filet and I had a strip steak. The meals were very good but not special. I would definitely come again if in Ithaca.

Eight adults and two children spanning four generations where crammed into a crowded room with poor ventilation and waited an hour from the time the food was ordered to the time the food was served with the wait staff just replenishing bread on the table. For a steakhouse while the meat was perhaps excellent grade, they ruined it with overcooking... More

The restaurant is located just outside of town at La Tourelle resort. The venue is an old (circa 187?) house converted to a restaurant. The service was excellent as was the food.

From the beginning, the bread and butter were perfect! Nice crusty bread with whipped butter! Then came the best fried calamari I ever tasted! It was fried perfectly, and totally tender! Then we were served lobster bisque to die for! Amazing soup! The main course was prime rib, cooked to my liking and worth every penny! Dipped in the au... More

We went for a family dinner and enjoyed a great meal. We were four (including a 5 year old) and the service was excellent. I recommend the lobster bisque, the porterhouse and wild mushrooms, for dessert the pecan pie was very nice. The price was reasonable for the quality of the food, service and ambience. If you want to enjoy... More

Typical business power meal steakhouse, but in a charming building adjacent a French themed inn. Near Ithaca College. Food and service very good. Porterhouse for two about $65-95 a la carte.

The food at the steakhouse was very good though we did not opt for steak. I now wish I did seeing other reviews. I had the Chicken Pommery which was very tasty and the other diners I was with had the scallop special which they both enjoyed. For the family style side, we had the mashed potatoes and they were... A great place with fantastic ambiance, delicious and tasty food, friendly staff and service. We were bunch of international GMs and owners who had dinner together and we loved it. We will strongly recommend this place to every one and will be back soon.

My wife and I were returning from Canada where we dining on left overs for most of the week. It was time for something special. We were staying at the La Tourelle and were planning to go into town for our dinner. I am so glad we didn't. We simply walked over to the John Thomas and had a sumptuous... More
