The Heights Restaurant and H Bar was established in 1995 by Culinary Institute of America graduate James Larounis and his wife Heidi. We are located in the Village of Cayuga Heights, one mile from the center of Cornell University. The restaurant has a casual, contemporary atmosphere and features Mediterranean-inspired American cuisine. We place the utmost value on our seasonal menus and on sourcing locally. We also take great pride in our wine list which includes over 400 bottle selections from the United States and international regions, and over 20 wines by the glass. The Heights Restaurant and H Bar has been a Wine Spectator award winner since 1999.

Enjoyable celebration

We celebrated my daughter's graduation from MBA school at the Heights. The meal was excellent and the service good. I felt a bit cramped with the tables very close together.

I've been to the heights several times -- and overall I think the food is a little overpriced and prefer to go for lunch (better prices, same-ish food) But, I went there last week to celebrate my husband's birthday on a Thursday night (ie. not too busy) and our service was terrible. There was a point where we waited, we... More

The quality of food is not what it used to be at the Heights. My last three visits have been consistent and sadly, disappointing. This change seems to have occurred around the same time that they expanded the bar section of the restaurant. I ordered the shrimp tacos. Between the 2 tacos, there were 3 total shrimp. I expected some... More

I try to avoid the Heights for dinner since the portions are so large you feel obliged to take food home --or else get just one course. Lunch is better.

We ate here a year or two back and it was amazing - every dinner was tastier than the next. But something has changed. Based on our prior experience, we were eager to have a graduation celebration here. The logistics of booking were really quite frustrating. I called several times and they would not even take a reservation, instead giving... More

We were introduced to Heights through our daughter who attended college in Ithaca. Each visit to the restaurant has been great. The food is excellent and we have always experienced superior service. We recently had a meal catered from Heights for a graduation party. James was kind enough to prepare it for us despite being closed that day. All of... More

My wife and I have had two lunches with my graduate assistants from Cornell University at the Heights, most recently on May 7. It is convenient to the campus by car, has ample parking, and it provides an excellent, relaxed ambiance to converse. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food selection is varied and excellent. We plan to... More

Our favorite place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary is the Heights Cafe. Everything about it exudes excellence and attention to detail. The food, service, ambiance are tops. We always enjoy having the profiteroles when it comes time for dessert.

A nice place for a special meal. The food was good if a bit pricey. The service was quite slow, and we had to keep asking for service.
