For a burger and a beer, the Pines can't be beat. The bacon cheese-burger on french bread, cooked to order, was the best I've ever had. The view over Cayuga Lake is remarkable. Always busy but the service is efficient and tables open up quickly.

Cozy place, nice folks, full bar. My son had the burger and fries. I had a salad and a bowl of chili. Nice lunch.

Let me add to the kudos for this local place…the burger was delicious…beautifully charred and served on French bread from Ithaca Bakery, another standout Ithaca spot. They have a challenge…eat 4 of their special pines burgers in an hour and win a t-shirt…burgers are 6 ounces , doesn't seem like ti would be too hard to do. After you've eaten... More

We thoroughly enjoyed this experience of an authentic American burger joint. Food was all we hoped it would be, and service friendly (albeit a little chaotic!).

This is a really nice local restaurant and bar on the wine trail north of Ithica, done in a very simple style with good food and good service. The style is akin to a hunting cabin, and you are more likely to see locals in baseball caps than the effete, tipsy, and somewhat tiresome wine trail tourists that predominate the... More

A great place to stop and get a burger. Unfortunately they don't take my favorite card - American Express. Hope they will soon and I'll return!

Had not been here for a very long time (I used to work in Ithaca so I was a regular). For 6 of us for an unplanned Sunday night meal there were not a lot of choices ... so we found ourselves at an old favorite. To give proper credit - the fish dinners from other diner comments were excellent.... More

This is an outstanding burger joint. I have heard about it for years but have never gone before. The burgers are large and on french bread. I liked it better than In N out burgers in California which I know is saying alot. My wife had the chicken burger and she thought it was outstanding. It is a few minute... More

I have been going to the Pines from the 1950s to the present. During the 60s thru the 80s, I believe, is when it gained its excellent reputation. Kenny, an owner (it's a family business), was a constant presence. He kept things running smoothly and the food was good. Any problem was promptly attended to. Seating? - The place was... More

We were visiting Ithaca for a wedding and someone in our party wanted to stop and eat. He had visited the Pines during college days. He said it had not changed. The menu featured lots of burgers, fried foods. It was reasonably priced.
