Better than average

I guess I'd like to give it 3.5. I rounded up. We've eaten here twice now. This trip: super nachos and chicken ranchero quesadilla. Both tasted fine ... nothing seems to have come straight from a can ... and the service was professional. Not many options for parking in this area.

A 'vibey', busy place downtown Ithaca. Even though they were busy, the service was very fast and efficient. Good food and drinks too. Try the chorizo quesidillas and nachos - both sure winners...

My mole chicken burrito was delicious. Service was attentive and fast. You can choose a takeout counter or table service but either way it's fast and yummy. It's also nice to eat at a local joint as Moe's and Chipotle take over the world.

Stopped here to get take-out for dinner. Had a mixed plate with chicken and corn tortillas, with rice, beans guacamole and sour cream. Chicken was excellent in flavor, beans were fine, rice so-so and rather flavorless. I was a bit disappointed in the guacamole. Overall good value with reasonable food choices.

It's hard to beat Viva's great food, reasonable prices and friendly service. The only downside is it gets so loud in the restaurant at dinnertime you have to scream to be heard by the person sitting across from you. The saving graces are: 1) it's much quieter at lunch and 2) you can sit outside during dinner in good weather.

Love Viva!! One of my Ithaca favorites! Pros: 1) Wonderful margaritas!!!! 2) Great options for gluten free (especially for those with gluten allergies/celiac disease) and vegetarians---everyone can find something here! The staff is very careful (and knowledgable) about cross contamination and allergy issues! 3) decent size portions! 4) fantastic atmosphere! Lovely decor! perfect location in the commons! 5) great quality... More

Good thing this place has great drinks and food because their waitstaff is the worst. My friend and I wait 15 minutes before we were asked "do you wanna order?" It was at least a half hour before our waitress came back each time. Then we moved to the bar assuming we would get better service. We couldn't have been... More

As a local, I have tried nearly every local place for Margaritas. My sister and I love to go you Viva and order dome if their excellent NACHOS and a goat. Goats are one of the house margaritas. What we like about Viva is the wide selection of Tequila, the knowledgeable bartenders, and the endless variation of margaritas they will... More

This is very unpretentious, blue jeans place that attracts locals, Cornell and Ithaca College students especially Friday and Saturday nights. There is outdoor sidewalk seating in good weather great for people-watching. Service is friendly and efficient. The "House Margarita" is delicious. Restaurant is located in central downtown Ithaca in an old brick building that retains the brick walls inside and... More

If you want quiet atmosphere, this place is not for you. We dined here on a Saturday evening when visiting family. There was a wait, but we were able to sit in the back and enjoy a margarita. When we were seated, our server was attentive. The appetizers weren't huge but tasty nonetheless. All of our dinners were delicious...the slaw... More
