Best in Ithaca

I go there every time I want to spoil my self. Romantic lake view. Big and delicious meals and beverages. Indoors and outdoors seating. Professional and friendly waiters. Waiting to be seated is never boring, go feed the ducks and fish. Average pricing.

The appealing lunch entree prices wound up being due to smaller portion sizes. The warm bread and herb butter was a good start. The BBQ Baby Back Rib entree (4 ribs) had about equal content of meat and fat; it came with mashed sweet potatoes and lousy coleslaw with tangy BBQ sauce on the size. The Shrimp Wrapped in Bacon... Disappointed in the the Finger Lakes region for the lack of waterside restaurants. We found this place while touring the area and after reading the reviews went in. We arrived on a Sunday evening. The place was busy but not packed. We asked to sit outside and told would be 20 minute wait. We were seated only a few minutes... More

Beautiful location, and our meals were very good. Be prepared to wait. We had a party of 10 (6 kids age 8-14). We called ahead an hour before getting there and still had to wait 20-25 minutes. I can understand that, as we did have a big group, and the wait was worth the great table with view. After placing... More

Definitely use their call ahead service to get seats near the water. The food was great! It was also very close to the Hangar Theater, To get to the restaurant from Ithaca, be sure to turn right before going over the bridge.

My friend and I enjoyed our first dinner here on a sunny July evening. The deck was full but we were given a table by the window looking out on the deck, which was just as pleasant. We shared an appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes (on special that evening), followed by Eggplant Rollatini and Seared Diver Scallops, served with asparagus... More

What a surprise. Never even gave this place a second look on our many trips to Ithaca but decided to stop in based on tripadvisor reviews. Although the place looks like it caters to those of a certain age (and certain income bracket), we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, there were a lot of popped collars and boat shoes in evidence... There are not many places to eat on the water in Ithaca. This one is situated on an inlet which is home to several rowing clubs. Cocktails were good, food was mediocre.

The setting for the boatyard is excellent: on the inlet with possible outdoor seating with views of Cayuga Lake. Our server, Eddie, was excellent: attentive, but not overly so. Having been to several restaurants recently, we were pleasantly surprised that there was a great range of affordable options. The crab cakes, beet salad with steak, and clam chowder were excellent.... More

Stopped with another guest for dinner on July 15th. Seating time was reasonable, comfort was adequate. Service was OK though lacking during the meal. A steak dinner and a salmon dinner were ordered. Steak dinner came buried in an onion garnish item, overwhelming the dish. Salmon came on a bed of rice and SOME vegetables. Portion size of salmon was... More
