Delightful evening

Four of us made a last minute decision to go to Moosewood for dinner (one newbie to the experience) and it was delightful as always. The menu has changed but the food has not. A friend and I ate here for dinner, it was excellent! We started with a warm veggie plate drizzled with a spicy peanut sauce. Then I enjoyed a salmon special over quinoa and my friend had the Rumbledethumps, which she felt was amazing. I also enjoyed the hot ginger orange tea. To cap off dinner we split a fudge brownie... I haven't eaten at the Moosewood in years (like 7 or 8). Yet again, it did not disappoint. I was surprised to see fish on the menu, but ordered the cheese enchiladas and a vegan dish. Both were outstanding. The only concern is how tight the seating is in that restaurant. We personally prefer our own tables rather than sitting... More

My husband and I almost never visit Ithaca without stopping at Moosewood to enjoy delicious and creative vegetarian food. Our last visit was on valentine's day for lunch, and our food was terrific. But I felt out of place, as though I'd entered an alternate universe. Gone was the familiar, informal, 'love me as I am' attitude and in it's... More

Moosewood is always a delightful experience. Each time I go there, there is a good range of options for different diets ie. vegan, gluten-free. All ingredients are healthy and tasty, and satisfying. It is easy to have a 3 or 4 course meal, with great drink options, that is completely delicious and nutritious in an artistic environment with excellent service.... More

I have been there several times after moving to Ithaca. Nice vegetarian options. But, the first time I was there, ordered a salad. It was room temperature (I like mine chilled) and there was browning along some of the leaf lettuce (I like mine fresh). The wait was long. It was not a "wow" experience, but a place probably any... Moosewood is famous for it's vegetarian cookbooks and wonderful vegetarian food. I have lunch here frequently and sometimes just stop in for coffee or a drink. They recently expanded their menu and there is something for everyone. Meat eaters will not be disappointed.

Not a very extensive menu but everything we tried (2 visits) was tasty. However, for someone who actually cooks at home, it was somewhat disappointing - we could make the same dishes at home. Pleasant environment and outside seating during the warm season. Nice overall.

Sorry, but I'm not a vegetarian. The entrées seem really weird to me. Eesh. Pros: - Excellent location - Nice environment Cons: - Very busy with a small waiting area - Perfunctory service

My wife and first ate here 25 years ago before we were married. Own the first cookbooks and made many recipes from them in the early years. Came back with the kids hoping for a nice dinner and some nice memories. Big disappointment. Service was slow. Food came out lukewarm at best. Waitress, who wasn't the most friendly, must have...
