I went thinking I would buy a cookbook or two and a glass as a souvenir, I left buying nothing because it was just "eh". I am a vegetarian, and I love going to restaurants where I have tons of choices, so this was a big draw for me. I'm not really sure what I expected in ambiance... but whatever... More

Though not a vegetarian - I was referred to this restaurant by my boss. My niece is in Ithaca College and she is Gluten-Free so this seemed like a logical choice for dinner. I had a pasta and vegetable dish that I enjoyed very much while my wife and niece had a soup/salad combo that they were both pleased with.... More

This was one of the best dining experiences of my life. The warm atmosphere, incredible cuisine and great service made thus a very special occasion. I highly recommend.

We just returned from this restaurant. The service was very slow. We received the soup with the main course. The Pine nut pasta cavalfiore was simply inedible. Other entrees were less than mediocre. The anticipation for top cousin was unanswered. We lest with bad taste.

The food is fresh, local, flavored to perfection, & presented beautifully! It's a "party in your mouth"! Their soups are too die for. We were in a party of 6...ages 9 - 70 & all were happy with their selection...our 11 yr old grandson said the PB&J was the best he'd every had!...fresh bread, homemade peanut butter & jam served... I sat at the bar. Obviously, this restaurant is a landmark in the culinary world so I had to go. The menu was very simple. I had dish of the day: Black beans w/ mango and other veggies/spices on rice. It was excellent. This is a vegetarian restaurant that serves one or two fish dishes. Very fresh food and satisfying.... Had a lovely lunch at moosewood. Had great soup selections and the main was very tasty. I had the tofu salad and gazpacho and watermelon soup. Staff were friendly and attentive. Look forward to cooking with my new cookbook.

Visiting Ithaca without eating at Moosewood seems unthinkable for the vegetarian/vegan. Or is it? We were disappointed to find out that of four entrées, only two are vegetarian (not vegan) and of the two starters, one (guacamole) is not available. We had one rather spicy Indian curry and one tofu-stuffed phyllo which was nice. Service was so-so. $44 per couple.

I learned to cook with the Moosewood cookbooks and was thrilled to be near enough to the restaurant to eat there in person. Unfortunately, on our 3000 mile road trip I would say this was one of the more dissapointing meals. Maybe our expectations were set so high because of the name but it was a let down. We arrived... Maybe I had high expectations, since using the cookbook for years and all the hype about the restaurant, so was not as impressed as I would have imagined. Everything was fine and I do recommend the restaurant especially if you are a vegetarian. I think at one time the food was probably more outstanding, but today chefs have gotten very... More
