Good food, best for vegetatians. Usually has a fish dish which is usually quite good. Famous for their cookbooks, known internationally. A "tree hugger" type of place.

Ithaca is full of restaurants with good, creative vegetarian and vegan dishes on their menus. Moosewood has enjoyed a reputation based on their cookbooks, spreading their name, but it never been wonderful. The ambience, the bar, and the staff are their best qualities

After many years of using their cook books, I finally got the chance have a meal here. Everything was fresh and delicious. Had the leek soup and the stuffed eggplant. The portion was huge but so delicious I finished it all and even had room for the apple crumble. Wait staff are attentive, engaging and knowledgeable. I would definitely return... More

My husband and I ate here on 9/21 for dinner. It was fun looking at old and new Moosewood cookbooks while we waited for about 20 minutes before greeting a seat. The meal was a treat in that we both felt so healthy after finishing. The salad that accompanies the entre had the sweetest shredded carrots and other fresh ingredients... More

This is where I bring my company/house guests for a "good eats" treat. Some come to visit especially to eat here, some don't get past the vineyards!!! Always an entertaining day....

Have been here each time I've visited Ithaca and I'm never disappointed Shared this visit with a friend visiting Ithaca for the first time and I wouldn't take her anywhere but here. Lovely meal from beginning to end. Thank you for your continued dedication to local farmers, artisans and good healthy food.

It was exciting to visit an establishment that has been around for so long. My family has had a moosewood cookbook for years, so I was really looking forward to visiting for dinner while I was in Ithaca. Maybe that's why I was less than thrilled with the food. I have visited some incredible vegetarian restaurants with great tasting food,... More

I too was familiar with the cookbook and the name and when my kid enrolled in school in Ithaca i was looking forward to eating here. Feh. Maybe it was the bomb back when there were few veggie options, but compared to SO many other veggie places now, this place is coasting on its rep. Food was often tasteless and... More

I have wanting to go to the moosewood restaurant for years. So finally for my birthday this year we drove two and half hours to Ithaca. I will say I was disappointed. The waitress and hostess were not very pleasant. The waitress acted like we were a bother to her. The hostess could have worn better attire. The food was... More

I feel badly that I am not writing a rave review. I have many of the Moosewood cookbooks and was excited to finally go there. Maybe I built it up too much, but I was disappointed. Very limited lunch menu and the waitress was not very friendly. I am a vegetarian, so the menu items with shrimp did not interest... More
