I've been to Taverna Banfi on several occasions (for work). I almost always get the buffet, not because they don't have other great selections on the menu, but because there are always such a wonderful variety of foods that come with the buffet - hot and cold salads and side dishes, and a main "entree" or two. And the dessert... More

Absolutely fantastic ambience and fantastic choice of food. Upscale and a little pricy, but it's the food and the experience that get top points.

went with family. Second visit. Both times very slow. Waitress triple charged our credit card. Now have to deal with credit card company. None of the staff seems to have any idea how to wait a table, serve food or manage a restaurant. The highlight was the food, which was a very good quality. Would recommend if wanting to eat... More

I was surprised how disorganized the brunch service was when we went there. Host was frazzled when it wasn't really that busy. The buffet table was a nice spread of food, but many of the items were already eaten and not replaced, (and it was only half way through the brunch service time. Hot foods were not hot. We were... Food and presentation was excellent. Wines a bit pricey and the student staff could use a bit more polish (training to build confidence) Overall very good choice if you are staying on campus

I went to Taverna Banfi with my friends for lunch on a Saturday after a half-day tour of Cornell's campus. The restaurant was on the second floor of the renowned Statler Hotel. The food was delicious and the service was decent with very attentive and nice waitress. We miss the Sunday Brunch as we went on a Saturday.

We were told that Cornell has a great Hotel and Restaurant management course. Statler Hotel was supposedly where they train these top students. I had expected service and amenities just short of the Ritz. The Banfi restaurant is dated. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a good restaurant in the 1980's . The food was average to good but a little... More

The brunch had nice selections and the service was good. It is difficult to say more without a visit during normal service.

Excellent service, we expected a more robust dinner menu. Everything was well prepared and presented. The breakfast buffet had good selections and the lunches were very good as well.

I so wanted to love this restaurant. We were staying at the Statler and thought the restaurant would be as wonderful as the hotel. The service was great. Emily our wait staff was professional and kept the water glasses full. My scallops were perfectly cooked and served with a refreshing fresh succotash. The two other meals we ordered were just...
