The brunch had nice selections and the service was good. It is difficult to say more without a visit during normal service.

Excellent service, we expected a more robust dinner menu. Everything was well prepared and presented. The breakfast buffet had good selections and the lunches were very good as well.

I so wanted to love this restaurant. We were staying at the Statler and thought the restaurant would be as wonderful as the hotel. The service was great. Emily our wait staff was professional and kept the water glasses full. My scallops were perfectly cooked and served with a refreshing fresh succotash. The two other meals we ordered were just... I fully enjoyed my Sunday Brunch at the Statler's Taverna Banfi. I was a guest in the hotel so thought I'd give the restaurant a try especially since I had heard good things about it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because they were about 10 minutes late in opening the brunch buffet, also the... More

It's a pity we locals don't treat Banfis as a dinner option often enough. It's a great choice for foodies. As a lunch stop on a working day it's an elegant option to cafeteria fare. The food quality and menu choices position it way above the mid-range lunch buffet. It is not accurate to describe it as an establishment run... More

Breakfast here is good all around. Traditional a la carte dishes, and both a light and full version of the buffet - all worthy. Student staff is eager to please but not as knowledgeable as more experienced restaurant employees. Located in lovely Statler Hotel on Cornell campus.

In Ithaca, we have many restaurant options, and so I haven't been to Taverna Banfi in probably two years. After eating at many other places recently and finally getting back to the Taverna, I am pleased to report that the portion sizes, the food, and the service/atmosphere make Taverna Banfi a really exceptional value. For instance, the braised short-rib entree... More

This restaurant located on the 2nd floor of the Statler is clearly meant to cater towards Johnson School students and wealthy visitors staying at the hotel. Run entirely by hotel students, the food is good but not great. I had the lunch buffet which was standard fare that you would expect for a mid-range restaurant, and quite pricey at >$20/person.

This restaurant is run by Cornell University hotel administration students. The menu is somewhat limited and there are no specials. The food was very well prepared and did not disappoint. The service was a bit slow. Overall, it was a very nice meal and we'd eat there again.

I thorougly enjoyed the dining experience my daughter and I had at Taverna! I was visiting her at Cornell for parent's weekend and needed a place where she and I could really catch up after two and half long months of separation and this place was perfect! The atmosphere was relaxing, upscale yet comfortable, and simply the perfect place to... More
