Awesome staff, excellent food

I'm in Ithaca frequently and this is one of my favorites. The menu accommodates varied tastes. Vegetarians and carnivores will be happy with flatbreads, salads, roasted veggies, tacos, burgers, pulled pork etc. The staff here is excellent, making sure guests are kept happy. This is good, since... read more

This is good, since sometimes the food is inconsistent, one time amazing, one time just above average.... More

My wife and i and another couple thought we would give this place a try. We made reservations for 6;30 arrived a little early but were seated immediately. My friend and I started out with their house Manhattan. Very delicious! Their beer and wine selection was also very good and you can even get a flight of tequila. I started... More

Our party of 8 (4 kids) recently visited Agava. The place is crowded, loud, and fun--great for young kids! The service was good, and the kids menu was great and cheap. The drinks were excellent as was the dessert. The ice cream bowls were huge, and the coconut flan and chili chocolate torte were both excellent. The entrees were mixed.... More

Our daughter at Cornell had been here a couple times and had mixed feelings. I had read on this site how great the food was , fresh and local and so innovative. We had a really nice lunch and our server was very helpful and explained the menu to us very well. Everything was so fresh and large portions. We... More

Our daughter, a student at Cornell, brought us to Agava (or use your GPS) and all 4 of our brunches were astounding. Each of us enjoyed every bite, and we shared bites among the family. Even the butter that was part of the unique corn bread was amazing; the chef I spoke with (see photo) said the wonderful flavor was... More

We very much enjoyed our meal here but froze in the upper dining room. The downstairs area was full and a table switch not possible. Next time I'll just leave. Our meals were vegetarian and quite good. Service was only so-so and needs a heavy upgrade. As we came to evaluate the cuisine after meeting the chef at a supply... More

I have had good food here and I have had bad food....I think it must depend on who is cooking or on who is managing the kitchen and how. I have had good service and bad. The ambiance is nice, however, and on Wednesday nights there is excellent salsa music and dancing...that is what I go for!

This is a wonderful place to eat and relax. Menu is basic but with a twist, location is bright, staff helpful and very friendly, food is always very tasty and fairly priced--- not upscale dining but great locally supported items

Had dinner with a group of 5. Reservation was ready the minute we walked in the door even though they were busy. Love the farm to table motif. They do a great job with the all aspects. The drinks were great. The small plates - especially the "Bacon and Eggs" - were excellent. We also ordered main courses. I ordered... More

We truly enjoy this restaurant and have visited all times of the day, with family, as a couple, as a group (Cornell/Ithaca College students love this place!), you name it. It's accommodating to all; the ambiance is Southwestern unique-chic, very updated and clean. All told, Agava is good-good-good! Love the local farm-to-food concept, lovely energy among staff, great bar (if... More
