Just out of college town but worth the drive

We had a wonderful time here. With a wait for a table we went to the bar area, which had a good selection of local and craft beers, wine and mixed concoctions. . The bar area is youthful and active. It was kinda of get you own from the bar which was OK with me as it gave me a... read more

I was SO happy to find this restaurant for lunch on our road trip. I tend to eat a plant-based diet and struggle to find really creative fare amongst the Standard American Diet offerings. I had a simple house salad (bigger than most with excellent greens) and the most amazing, fall-off-your-chair tacos filled with fried Brussel sprouts, toasted almonds, burnt... More

Agava is conveniently located just two miles from my house which makes it a favorite for week nights when cooking at home isn't an option. I am a very picky eater and have to say I tend to stay away from spicy food...by that I mean any food with even a hint of "heat." One would then question my choosing... More

We pre-paid a reservation for a party of 9 for graduation weekend. May 24, 2015 Food ranged from excellent to poor. Some of the dishes were completely inappropriate (TOO SPICY) for our grandparents. However, the waitress seem incapable of guiding our diverse group to make better decisions. The food was WAY OVER PRICED. $600 for a party of 9 may... More

We went in a group of 7 on a Thursday night which had nothing to do with a college or university event. The hostess was missing for about 5 minutes. The line to be seated just kept increasing. Once seated, I visited the restroom. It was disgusting -filthy. One waiter was assigned to us. We requested separate checks. He said... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Ithaca but the last visit had not been great (over-salted items, soggy chips). The lunch experience redeemed the restaurant's image in my mind. I tried The Richard instead of my usual Agava Burger and it was excellent. Everyone in my party enjoyed their entrees (crab cakes, El Camino) as well as their... More

Our table was not ready when we arrived for our reservation. Not a problem, we waited on the patio. A server came to take our order and informed us that they could make a pitcher of margarita's. She asked how many glasses to bring out, we said six. When she came back out again, she informed us that there were... More

6 of us, squeezed onto 2 tables for 2. Overcrowded. Unbearable noise. This wasn`t dining, this was forced-feeding. They rushed us through the courses so that we would vacate the tables as soon as possible, to the degree that they were removing plates from the tables before everyone had finished the same course. One main course order was missed completely... More

Visited this restaurant for dinner last night with my husband and daughter, on her recommendation. We started with the homemade guacamole and chips and loved it. Very flavorful with a smokey taste to it. Among the best we have had. For our main courses, we all had tacos and thought they were delicious. My husband and I had the house special... More
