I went for a quiet lunch with a good friend. She suggested that the two inside rooms were too noisy for conversation so we went to the patio. I ordered the lamb burger but asked if the spicy rub could be omitted, but instead, they omitted the greens, yogurt and pickled beets that came with it and the waitress didn't... More

Trendy restaurant outside downtown Ithaca, with a southwest inspired cuisine. Variety of plates about average, quality consistently good. Reasonable (and not expensive) prices for what you get.

Atmosphere was great, drinks were tall, staff was friendly and highly knowledgable and the food was out of this world! The restaurant is a farm to table establishment and a significant amount of the entrees are locally sourced. Within our group we had a gluten allergy and the staff was more than accommodating and ready to meet all of our... More

Overall, Agava is a good restaurant and I'm sure I'll be back there. Unfortunately, some of my friends and family that I've been here with have had not-so-great experiences due to slow service and lackluster meals. Many of the food offerings are quite good and use local sources. I definitely want to get to one of the open mics at... More

This was a great surprise that we heard about from friends. There is ample parking. The exterior is unpretentious, but the inside has wonderful mixed material decoration, with interesting patterns of woods, many of them distressed, and glass. The seating on 2 levels feels open but cozy and the outdoor tables are on a heated patio and had expandable seating... More

Agava was recommended to us by the clerk at 15 Steps, a shop in the Commons, when I went to have my ring I received on our 30th anniversary. We said we felt we deserved a margarita, and she said, go to Agava. It is a little out of the way, at the top of the hill in back of... More

I returned to Ithaca NY briefly a few weeks ago for a little business and a lot of pleasure - among the most pleasurable hours was spent with a dear old friend at Agava. Tucked behind Cornell University, it's not the easiest location to place a restaurant in Ithaca, as it's out of the way of "restaurant row" on Aurora... More

Disappointed on all counts. The place was also very loud, both inside and out. They were fairly busy to be fair, but wait staff seemed inattentive nonetheless. Pizza looked good, and perhaps we caught them on a 'bad' day, but can't recommend it with so many other great places to choose from.

A great place to eat. Eclectic cuisine. Love the quinoa fritters. Great hamburgers. Lots of locally sourced ingredients.

Agava is a nice place close to Cornell University at East Hill Plaza. The space is small so it can get noisey especially at lunch time. The food is good with Great hand made pizza's with a lot of pizzaz. The different options for pizza make it a nice change. They offer great lunch specials every day and there outdoor... More
