Bit on the upscale side and we froze

We very much enjoyed our meal here but froze in the upper dining room. The downstairs area was full and a table switch not possible. Next time I'll just leave. Our meals were vegetarian and quite good. Service was only so-so and needs a heavy upgrade. As we came to evaluate the cuisine after... read more

I have had good food here and I have had bad food....I think it must depend on who is cooking or on who is managing the kitchen and how. I have had good service and bad. The ambiance is nice, however, and on Wednesday nights there is excellent salsa music and dancing...that is what I go for!

This is a wonderful place to eat and relax. Menu is basic but with a twist, location is bright, staff helpful and very friendly, food is always very tasty and fairly priced--- not upscale dining but great locally supported items

Had dinner with a group of 5. Reservation was ready the minute we walked in the door even though they were busy. Love the farm to table motif. They do a great job with the all aspects. The drinks were great. The small plates - especially the "Bacon and Eggs" - were excellent. We also ordered main courses. I ordered... More

We truly enjoy this restaurant and have visited all times of the day, with family, as a couple, as a group (Cornell/Ithaca College students love this place!), you name it. It's accommodating to all; the ambiance is Southwestern unique-chic, very updated and clean. All told, Agava is good-good-good! Love the local farm-to-food concept, lovely energy among staff, great bar (if... More

If you're looking for a perfect Sunday brunch in Ithaca this is the place. One word, Mimosas. There hasn't been one thing on the menu I didn't like. The bar is small but the bartenders are great and the mojitos are to die for. In the nice weather there's really great outside seating.

I dined here in early December with a friend who has celiac disease. I also brought along my 12 year old twin daughters. Who would think I could please everyone at one restaurant?? We split a number of plates-- roasted root vegetables, charbroiled oysters and an order of the Chile Rellenos, along with some great wine. One daughter opted for... More

We take a customer here almost every time in Ithaca. Their unique sustainable selections please the eye and the mouth. Do not miss the agava honey chili brussel sprouts ( I know but these are not your mothers brussels really!) and try the butternut squash farro out of this world. The free salsa and chips are delicious to start and... More

Back in Ithaca on business, I came here to see what had evolved from the previous restaurant(s) that I had known here when in graduate school (~ 20 years ago). At first, I was not impressed by the prospect of another SW style restaurant but took the chance. I am so glad I did. When traveling solo I like to... More
