Excellent lunch this time (compared to dinner during Christmas week)

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Ithaca but the last visit had not been great (over-salted items, soggy chips). The lunch experience redeemed the restaurant's image in my mind. I tried The Richard instead of my usual Agava Burger and it was excellent. Everyone in my party enjoyed their... read more

We pre-paid a reservation for a party of 9 for graduation weekend. May 24, 2015 Food ranged from excellent to poor. Some of the dishes were completely inappropriate (TOO SPICY) for our grandparents. However, the waitress seem incapable of guiding our diverse group to make better decisions. The food was WAY OVER PRICED. $600 for a party of 9 may... More

We went in a group of 7 on a Thursday night which had nothing to do with a college or university event. The hostess was missing for about 5 minutes. The line to be seated just kept increasing. Once seated, I visited the restroom. It was disgusting -filthy. One waiter was assigned to us. We requested separate checks. He said... More

Our table was not ready when we arrived for our reservation. Not a problem, we waited on the patio. A server came to take our order and informed us that they could make a pitcher of margarita's. She asked how many glasses to bring out, we said six. When she came back out again, she informed us that there were... More

6 of us, squeezed onto 2 tables for 2. Overcrowded. Unbearable noise. This wasn`t dining, this was forced-feeding. They rushed us through the courses so that we would vacate the tables as soon as possible, to the degree that they were removing plates from the tables before everyone had finished the same course. One main course order was missed completely... More

Visited this restaurant for dinner last night with my husband and daughter, on her recommendation. We started with the homemade guacamole and chips and loved it. Very flavorful with a smokey taste to it. Among the best we have had. For our main courses, we all had tacos and thought they were delicious. My husband and I had the house special... More

Agava is a place I keep going back to over and over. Their hand-cut fries are delicious, and I haven't had a bad meal yet (meals range from good to GREAT). Try washing it down with a glass of Mexican Sangria or a Pomegranate Mojito!

Recent dinner here with family was very good. While there was a bit of a wait, we were able to have drinks at the bar that were great. Both the bartender and waiter were great. Tried a variety of the small plates and they were all well prepared and tasty. Will definitely be back.

Wednesday diner the place was packed, place seems popular at least for college students. PROS: some food is between good and very-good: lamb meat balls, pan seared tuna, padre tacos are just good; Ambiance is OK but noisy, we were seated in the terrace, in the inside it looked better. CONS: The menu is printed in very small font good... More
