The ambience inside Northstar pub is a bit on the dark side, with candlelight-like luminosity, so I found that to be a bit off putting. However, the waitresses were extremely friendly, and gave top notch service for a pub. The menu is loaded with lots of eclectic salads--not your typical Caesar salads, but much more inventive and original. What is... More

Great local bar/restaurant. Located in a neighborhood, so you have to wander around a bit to find it. Check out the M&C of the day!

Great local place near Cornell University. Great food to fit every diet type. They have a great outdoor patio and a great beer garden in the back. Suggest getting a reservation seems to always have a wait. But worth the wait.

Had dinner here 6/14/14 and really enjoyed our experience. We have dined here prior and I was looking forward to the crab cakes with coconut rice that I had on a prior visit but, alas, no longer on the menu. Settled on the sirloin with roasted fingerling potatoes and a very spicy harissa sauce, which I requested on the side.... More

A great relaxed spot for hearty local (mostly) fare. The local offerings extend even to some of the liquor selections which is atypical and fun. Our service was outstanding and the food was terrific. The trio of purees was a great start. The mac & cheese special, grilled chicken sandwich and pork belly cuban sandwich were all home runs. Go... More

Friendly, unpretentious, and good vibes. The food is not gourmet or fancy, just good quality with some interesting twists on some of the basics. There's a mac and cheese of the day, which is home made and sometimes has interesting touches like broccoli or potatoes and garlic, etc.. The fish sandwich is obviously hand-dipped, thick, and is very yummy. Folks... More

I went with two friends about a week ago for brunch. We had heard that it was amazing, and a friend of mine had been with her mom and loved the experience. The waitress was very very nice and had good suggestions for drinks and food. Although my brunch was a little bit late compared to my friends', the waitress... More

A close friend and I made Northstar our weekly hang out spot for almost two years. The food is only so-so, but the place is in our neighborhood and has decent beer so it worked. One night we went with my daughter and another friend and a group of waitresses sat near us on a break and stared rudely at... More

This place is supposed to be known for its mac and cheese. Although it looked creamy like 'mom's' it was flavorless. I got that as a large side dish. In addition, my dining companion discovered a 2 foot hair in her order - just as a waitress was walking by. She quickly removed the order and replaced it with another... More

Northstar is so elegant and personal. I recommend anything risotto stuffed (which I believe is usually a vegetable and changes seasonally). The staff is friendly and gives you plenty of personal space for a great intimate night out.
