Loved the food here! We ended up eating here 2 of our 3 nights in Ithaca- only because it closes on Mondays! Their fish cooked in parchment paper is a little slice of heaven on a plate. This place is quite pricey, but the food here is worth every single cent!

We enjoyed the food as usual but the new array of specialty drinks was fun and interesting. Will definitely bring us back for more drink and munchies if we don't have dinner...liked the new menu and variety of choices.

They don't take reservations, so we went early and had no trouble getting a booth. We started with their soup of the day, an "Eastern Long Island clam chowder" - no cream, but not tomato-based either. It had some tomato and lots of vegetables and potato in a clam broth. Excellent, as was the gnocchi with eggplant ragu, a dense... More

Great food for the price! As we were passing through town on way to a B and B we were too tired to go to restaurant. They don't do take out but the accommodated us anyway! Try the oven fried chicken!

High quality food and friendly service. The prices are a tad high BUT if you are looking for a nice place to have dinner, take guests or entertain business acquaintances, then pick this spot. Its clean, quiet and with a limited menu, they focus on executing a few dishes really well. The hangar steak is really good and so is... More

I read good reviews on Tripadvisor and Mercato did not disappoint. I got the Arctic Char which is cooked with lemon and capers in parchment paper. The presentation is great (they open it tableside) and it was delicious (melt in your mouth!). My husband got the steak and felt it was one of the best he’s ever had. You can... More

Enjoyed our dinner (grilled hangar steak w/shoestring fries [steak tasty, good texture and perfectly prepared; potatoes more chip like than shoestring, could have been less crunchy; served w/side salad -- nice vinaigrette; fettucini & cavatelli, both good; starters were crostini trio [nice] and olives and Marcona almonds [both unusually good]), good service. Almost left after we were seated as the... More

Been here twice and both times the food and service were excellent. It's obvious that the food is consistently good, as the restaurant was full most of the evening. I had the scallops, and my associate had the swordfish. Both were delicious. Kudos to the owners. I don't travel to Ithaca often, but this restaurant will be my first choice... More

Having had a terrific and very reasonably priced dinner at Agava the previous night, my dinner at Mercato had tough competition, and for the most part it was up to the task. The room is a typical narrow, intimate ground floor space that one finds in the old downtown areas of cities like Ithaca. It is very pleasant and well... More

We are visiting Ithaca and chose Mercato based on TA reviews. No surprise we had a fantastic experience. The restaurant is small and busy but we were seated quickly at the bar. The menu is great and we all enjoyed our cocktails, entrees, and dessert. Eric was great...he gave me a taste of an Italian wine I'm not familiar with... More
