Well worth a visit for Thai food

This was our first time at Tamarind. From the outside the building doesn't look like a place you would stop but don't let that dissuade you. The dining room is quiet and very pleasant to be in. We ordered 3 dishes: chicken in peanut sauce, pad see ew and Pad Thai. The peanut sauce was tasty... read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Ithaca. They have a large selection and a friendly staff. Beer and wine are available and the quality of the food is very good and consistent. The prices are not bad. Usually about $35 for dinner for two plus drinks. The only issue with this restaurant (why it does not get a... More

Tamarind is a small Thai restaurant. The owner tries to save money by having only one front-of-the-house employee and that doesn't always work well. Today I arrived before my dining partner and the one and only server...and bus person...and telephone answerer... took me to a talbe and left two menus. Thai food takes a bit longer for me to think... More

we visited this restaurant during our recent visit hope lake lodge in Cortland. service as well as quality of food was good. this restaurant is a good place to visit if you are craving for Thai food. just a note: food is generally spicy, we asked for medium spicy food and found it was little bit more spicier then what... The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Definitely the best Thai food in Ithaca.

Of the several Thai places in town, this is one of maybe two that has a more authentic taste. Fresh spices. Great ambiance. The place always looks like it's closed or out of business, but I've had consistently good meals there.

Just stopped in for lunch based on all the positive reviews. And...it was edible, but unimpressive. The tom kha soup was good, but I had to pick inedible pieces of lemongrass from my mouth. The orange chicken (my daughter's choice) was dry, but the flavor was good. The yellow curry was too spicy and didn't have nearly enough coconut in... More

First, this review has nothing to do with the service - we've gotten take out here three times, and review is based on those experiences. The staff where you pick the food up has always been friendly. I know this is a popular thai place in town, and have friends who enjoy it. We love thai food and have eaten... More

Love the food, in particular the fresh rolls, the BBQ duck, duck noodle soup, duck curry (yes, we love duck), noodle dishes, curries, etc. Everything. On winter days, lunch comes with a free bowl of garlicy broth that is out of this world. The staff are very welcoming. Once in a while, the kitchen is slow, but usually they're fine.... More

One of my family's favorite spots in Ithaca. The menu is extensive and we have never had a bad meal there. Their soups, appetizers, entrees and deserts are all delicious. The prices are reasonable and the service is great.
