It's OK...

Just stopped in for lunch based on all the positive reviews. And...it was edible, but unimpressive. The tom kha soup was good, but I had to pick inedible pieces of lemongrass from my mouth. The orange chicken (my daughter's choice) was dry, but the flavor was good. The yellow curry was too spicy... read more

First, this review has nothing to do with the service - we've gotten take out here three times, and review is based on those experiences. The staff where you pick the food up has always been friendly. I know this is a popular thai place in town, and have friends who enjoy it. We love thai food and have eaten... More

Love the food, in particular the fresh rolls, the BBQ duck, duck noodle soup, duck curry (yes, we love duck), noodle dishes, curries, etc. Everything. On winter days, lunch comes with a free bowl of garlicy broth that is out of this world. The staff are very welcoming. Once in a while, the kitchen is slow, but usually they're fine.... More

One of my family's favorite spots in Ithaca. The menu is extensive and we have never had a bad meal there. Their soups, appetizers, entrees and deserts are all delicious. The prices are reasonable and the service is great.

It was a busy spot on Christmas Eve but, contrary to other reviews, the service staff was attentive and up to the task. This is a small restaurant but the quality of the food is anything but small, spice levels were fine and maybe a tad high (I was a 4 and had a runny nose and had to dine... More

I've never been here to eat, only gotten take-out. I've been here a few times while I'm working in Ithaca. Every time I go with my tried-and-true Orange Chicken. I like it when it's prepared kind of crunchy and that's exactly how Tamarind makes it. I love it. Little disappointed they don't toss in a few flowers of broccoli but... More

We have been here about 30 times. We've loved it every time. It can be quite spicy but they are very good at accommodating any level of spice. For the price, I think it may be the best restaurant in Ithaca.

The food was delicious and fresh. I enjoyed the spicy eggplant with tofu. My dinner guest enjoyed the pad thai and we both had the house salads with peanut dressing. Very crowded. The restaurant definitely needs to wash and IRON the window treatments. The staff was VERY friendly and accommodating.

Had a friend in from out of town. We always get Thai. Drove the 45 minutes to Ithaca. It was so worth the drive. Great food, nice place and good service.

Have lived in Thailand, we have fairly high standards for Thai cuisine and lament the dumbed- down-for-farangs-flavors found in some U.S. Thai eateries. But Tamarind is really authentic and really good! Their Panang curries are outstanding (Yes, they have a certain consistency that comes from the deliberately not-so-finely-ground peanuts on which the sauce is based.) The red curry tasted of...
