Four times in a four day trip made the culinary part of the trip a perfect 10!!! This is some of the best ice cream anywhere - and yes, Trip Advisor I am an ice cream connoisseur. Every flavor is wonderful - some better than others and they really do know how to make a sundae if you want to... More

Let me begin by saying we got the vegan ice cream, which is something we can's get at any ice cream places where we live. We also decided that we didn't care that we were already stuffed from lunch because we had heard really good things at Purity. I got the vanilla with chocolate syrup and sliced strawberries mixed in... More

My wife & I had a banana split sundae, it was super yummy. The atmosphere here is pretty great, I loved the atmosphere inside the shop. It was really great!

On vacation visiting Finger Lakes. I always have high expectations for upstate NY ice cream and based upon the reviews, thought this place would be really good. Was severely disappointed the flavor just wasn't there. Tried the mint ice cream with crushed oreos. Husband tried a specialty shake. One of the disconcerting things about this place is that you cannot see... More

I was excited to get ice cream from this place because I had read that it was a popular local spot. However, quite honestly, I didn't find it to be anything special for the line and crowd that was there. It just didn't seem that great to me but perhaps they have some specialty that I didn't order. (We had... More

My two girls and I were exploring the Finger Lakes region and were in the mood for ice cream. This place came up first in our search and it was easy to find. The choices for ice cream flavors are impressive, but it does make me wonder when an ice cream shop doesn't display their ice cream. I had to... More

This was definitely an interesting ice cream experience. Everything we tried was delicious. They have an extensive selection of flavors, some of which are unique. They have a variety of serving modes and sizes, too, including a junior size (one scoop). Nice, retro feel to the place: small-town ice cream shop, founded in the 1930s. The only thing I didn't... The ice cream is made by Byrne Dairy using the famous old Purity recipes - my favorite is the peppermint in a sugar cone. While there, look at their baked goods and consider taking home cupcakes, muffins or pies - which are all made from scratch.

Did you know that the ice cream sundae was invented in Ithaca? When we found out it happened at Purity Ice Cream we had to make sure we visited, and we are certainly glad we did! There are many versions of the sundae, or you can create your own. They are big enough for sharing. Go ahead and indulge, you... More
