Tucked away, I only noticed this place a few months ago. I've gone twice since then, having the 'steak frites' and the bread pudding dessert both times. I'll definitely have the same thing next time too. It's really fun and interesting to sit at the counter and watch the cooks from just a few feet away.

This restaurant is located a little off the main street but seemed to be well known by the locals. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Appetizers at our table included crab fritters, vichyssoise, scallops and house smoked salmon. All were pronounced delicious. Entrees included 2 orders of rack of lamb which were devoured quickly, salmon and ahi tuna. The salmon... More

This little bistro tucked away on State Street is a terrific find. My wife and I visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening and found a full house and after sampling the food it was easy to see why. The menu is varied and current without catering to trends or fashion. The food is well prepared and delicious , top... More

The most welcoming and relaxing meal in years. Everything was perfect but casual and comfortable. Adorable surroundings lend to the fresh and innovative recipes by the chef and pastry chef. Ask for Spencer as your waiter if he is available... any waiter that can help you decide when you are stuck between 2 unrelated dishes is tops in my books!

This delightfully witty and inventive bistro is tucked into a quiet neighborhood on West State Street, well apart from the hubbub of downtown Ithaca. A recent warm summer evening found me dining with my sister at an outside table where we enjoyed the ambiance of a tree-lined street with only occasional traffic. The meal began with a tastebud-shaking plate of... More

A bit pricey, but excellently prepared, tasty food. Upscale dining with a good wine list. Part of the food to table movement. Would recommend eating there.

I loved my seasonal linguini with ramps and bacon. Everyone enjoyed their food, and the desserts were good - I had an exotic chocolate chipotle torte - very good and surprising.

Great menu, awesome service, spectacular food! The wine list is great, the beer list includes local microbrews, some food on the menu is locally sourced, when available. We love this place!

Fineline Bistro has the most inventive cooking in the area. The service is also excellent. The wine list could be a bit more expansive but there is a nice representation of local as well as wines from other parts of the world. Corkage fee is only $10 so no excuse if you want to bring your own. We live in... More
