Just outside of Inlet, NY is a real gem of a tavern and restaurant. There is a nice friendly bar and a restaurant that serves delicious food with great service. Not bar food but well prepared meals. The seafood cakes on a bed of greens had shrimp, scallops and real crabmeat. The sirloin steak with sautéed mushrooms came with a... More

This place was a very pleasant surprise!! Great food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff!! We all had the salmon dinner special which was fantastic and then shared a brownie sundae and a piece of blueberry pie with ice cream for dessert! We will definitely be coming back here!!

We always make at least one visit to the Red Dog every year. It's better than "just" bar food. They do what they do fairly well. 8 of us visited this year. Pulled pork nachos never disappoint. Good burgers. Ribs were very saucy and meaty. The wings are excellent with various sauces. Nuclear Waste was the popular choice. Someone at... More

Four of us stopped in for dinner one night. We were greeted by the owner who was very friendly, asked if we'd been before and where we were from (the answer being Rochester, Buffalo and Baltimore). We all had a great meal (burger, BBQ sandwiches and a quesadilla). Those of us getting fries all upgraded to the cajun fries; which... More

Took the family here following a recommendation from one the locals during our stay in Inlet this summer. We were in the mood for some wings on a rainy afternoon after taking in a movie in old forge. My son enjoys spicy wings and the red dog promised some heat. Our host warned us that the Armageddon wings are usually... More

The food was decent but I was surprised at the uncleanliness of the bathrooms. We went there many years ago under a different owner but it has slipped since then. They need to pay attention to the overall cleanliness of the place.

Four of us went up to Old Forge for the day. Had been expecting to have a great meal. We decided to have appetizers. We ordered two different types of wings (the mild garlic, and the next level up), nacho's, and the pot stickers, and drank lots of beer. The wings were way to spicy and hot (thinking they put... Every time my wife and I go to the Adirondacks, we always wants to try something new. This time it was the Red Dog Tavern. Over all we enjoyed out time here, but there are a few things worth pointing out for others. Don't expect a quiet dinner as the acoustics prevent that. It was a bit loud in the... More

This was our second visit to Red Dog Tavern (first experience as summer of 2013). We were just as pleased with our second visit! The bar area is not ample, but it gives you that "cozy" feel while waiting for your table. The bartender was very friendly, and appeared to know many of the locals that arrived while we sipped...
