good authentic mexican dishes

while the restaurant may appear to be average mex/American food, I was pleased to find authentic Mexican dishes done very well. I would absolutely dine here again.

There used to be a restaurant at this location, "La Viejoteca" but it closed. San Miguelito appeared form the ashes of La Viejoteca, and although it is not as good, it is a good place to have a Tamarind Margarita, with chilli powder on the rim. Will not eat there, maybe ask for appetizers to go with the Margarita.

We walked by this restaurant and our eye got caught by its decoration. So at the end we decided to give it a try and we had our lunch there. The prices were a little bit expensive compared to other restaurants but we decided to treat ourselves. The waiters were very nice and ours was very funny. We had the... More

Asked for a mojito and the waiter said they would do it with a 'x' rum brand, which is the most expensive rum. I asked if they did it with other rum brands too, he said the price wouldn't be much different. Asked for the price (he didn't gave us the drinks menu), he got all weird and repeating that... More

My mother and I went to have a margarita right at the end of our trip to Mexico at this restaurant, knowing that it would be expensive, but it was to be our treat for ourselves. Treat it was not. Only two other tables were occupied, and the waiters smelled of alcohol. One of them was rude to my mother,... More

I went to this restaurant as part of a business delegation. The service was good and decor attractive. While the starter we had was quite nice, it was agreed by most of us that the main course of steak was on the verge of being vile. Avoid.

We've walked by this restaurant dozens of times but always passed it by because it looked too touristy. Now I'll just call it's decor quirky, but they do have a decent menu with some unique choices. I also liked the 3 salsas that came with complimentary bread that included a unique whole wheat baked flat bread. Attentive service, too.

After looking various restaurants we came by the restaurant San Miguelito where they serve Mexican food. The restaurant looks very pretty however the food from all three plates were so salty we required to order many drinks, also the place was out of some typical dishes and drinks making our choice quite limited, also the waiters were a little bit... We are vegetarians so we put the restaurants thru some tests and these guys were really helpful and accommodating. The price was moderate, not bad, not great. But i would certainly eat here again. Had a vegetarian Chiles Nogales. It was a little under cooked but the crackers (instead of salsa and chips) served beforehand were really awesome. Skip the... More

We were drawn to this restaurant because of its bright colors and whimsical nature. The walls have beautiful murals of characters from Mexican Loteria. I’m thankful we stopped in because it turned the right decision. Juan, our waiter promptly assisted us and provided sound recommendations, especially the local beer, Querétaro. It tasted great and was smooth. We tried the Panuchos... More
