I have been to mariner's on the Hudson a few times over the summer. The ambiance and views are fantastic and the wait staff is very attentive. The food is OK, but nothing to rave about. I would recommend ordering from the appetizer or sandwich/burger menu. The entrees are nothing to rave about, and have been hit and miss in... More

Excellent fresh lobster, crabmeat and shrimp with a light lemon dressing. Pleasantly surprised - friends had fresh fried haddock, seafood platter and salmon club. Everyone enjoyed this spot on water after walking across the Hudson.

Great location, panoramic vista. Excellent food and different activities on different nights. My friend and I had been going there since they had trivia night on Thursdays. We were frequent participants and would go even when there was little participation. It gets busy during the warmer months and you can play at the tiki bar. Suffice to say, my friend... More

We enjoyed a leisurely lunch at Mariner's. The taxi ride from Poughkeepsie Train Station just across the bridge cost us $20 which was a shocker. Apparently there was a closer entrance just off the Mid-Hudson bridge which was closed so getting here involved going further down the highway to another turnoff, thus lengthening the journey time. When we arrived we... More

Make no mistake, the view is beautiful.....on a great clear night sitting by the river, you can't beat the place for the view at any price. While our waitress was friendly enough, it took forever to get served and the food, while ok, was JUST ok. I always believe that when shrimp cocktail are on a menu they must be... More

Unfortunately Mariners has the ability to be a hidden gem. They just need to get a good chef and have someone develop the staff to deliver better service. Even the well drinks are poor and it takes a half n hour to get a drink outside. Every year we try to give this restaurant another chance, and we felt bad... More

Have been here and the food wasn't to bad today we ordered the same thing again and it was bad. We started with the house salad and ordered the balsamic vinagarette and it was very acidic . My husband had the lobster tail and scallops which were both under cooked and mashed potatoes well...mashed. I had the lobster tail and... More

Boating and dining on the Hudson has always been a challenge, and Mariner's was no exception. My colleague and I both had the clam chowder and seafood salad, which was recommended by the waitress. The chowder was watery, and the salad was barely edible, and was missing some of the advertised ingredients. The lettuce was wilted and bathed in watery... More

We were seated as soon as we arrived. That was the last good part of the experience. We waited for 20 minutes before a loaf of bread was dropped at table (no plates to use) we ate the bread off our napkins. After another 10 minutes our waitress came and took our drink order. Again waited 10 minutes to get... More
