My sisters and I were in Herkimer for a visit(it's a halfway point for each). We found this gem and had to stop in. The atmosphere is great, waitresses friendly and fun. We each ordered different menu items and enjoyed our meals. We will be eating there next time!

Incredible menu, fun atmosphere, big portions, reasonable prices. It's a flash back to the 50s - a must-visit when in the Herkimer vicinity. Biggest omelets anywhere, served all day, and award-winning hamburgers. They have everything - traditional and adventurous items - for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You won't leave hungry! Will come back over and over again.

This is a really fun 50's style diner. The food was delicious and very big portions. The servers were very friendly. We would definitely eat here again.

My husband and I went to breakfast while waiting for new brakes to be put on our car. The coffee was like mud, undrinkable. We both ordered bacon, scrambled eggs and toast and after a few bites, asked for the check. Prices were very high for bad, diner food. Would never go there again.

Stopped here last year while in the area and enjoyed it. Stopped by twice this time, once for dinner and once for breakfast. A little disappointed this time. Chicken N Waffles was great, open faced turkey sandwich was great. Their "special" of prime rib was not. Never had a prime rib so lacking in flavor. One of us was even... More

I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and toast for $10. Ridiculous. It wasn't even very good. I would not go again.

This is a classic diner with good food, good prices, and good service. Whenever we are in Herkimer we eat here. This restaurant is also active in the local community. Check them out if you are in the area.

Traveling East on I-90 looking for a place to stop for a quick meal. Decided to bypass our usual restaurant destination [the place right off the highway with the scenic view of the canal] as their service is too slow, and we are glad we discovered this gem of a diner in downtown Herkimer. It felt like being back in... More

From exit 30, follow 28 North, watch for the "Empire Diner" on the left, and that's it, you're there. Fun atmosphere with 50's movie posters and license plates from all over the U.S. Had a delicious breakfast of homemade corned beef hash. I was fortunate enough to eat there during the weekday lull between the breakfast rush and lunch rush,... More

Nice, clean and casual. Nice staff, award winning burgers, best coleslaw and best green pea and ham soup. I always stop there when I'm in town.
