A nice place for lunch on the wine trail.

We enjoyed lunch at the Red Newt. Sevice for lunch was excellent - -you order at a counter but staff said for us to have wine tasting while we waited. The food was very good -- the meatloaf grilled cheese reminded me of meatloaf sandwiches I had has a kid.

I was disappointed to learn that Red Newt Bistro only serves lunch and very early dinners, but the food is still good, and the view from the deck facing Seneca Lake is awesome.

Red Newt may not be it, but it was our one pick for the day. Lovely setting perched across the road with truly stunning views of Lake Seneca. Too warm to eat outside, inside just a tiny bit cooler on this HOT day. Little cafe included right in the wine tasting area was convenient. We ordered a couple flights of... More

This winery is what brought me to Hector NY. A wine club I belonged to that closed down distributed NY only wines. I loved this Riesling the moment I tried it. Always said I stop by if ever travelled way upstate NY and made an extra night stay on way home. One very knowledgeable lady knew her s*** when it... More

We stopped here for lunch around 3 after a wine tasting nearby. We ordered a great lunch, a flight of 3 wines and a great lunch. Beautiful views and friendly service.

Some friends had told us about trying Red Newt for their wines but also for nice lunch. This was our first time there. For lunch one of us had a kale salad which was excellent and one had a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon. This grilled cheese sandwich was one of the best ever!!! We ordered at the counter and... Takes grilled cheese to its maximum flavors and can be incorporated with meatloaf, black beans, or mushrooms. Staff was very friendly and attentive and said they use all local ingredients. It was a tad pricey for what we got, I was kind of expecting a little more but the view from the balcony was worth it.

We were traveling with a small dog and needed to find a pet-friendly place to stop for lunch. We contacted them in advance and asked if we could bring a dog to to the patio seating and they said yes. We went there on a Monday so it wasn't crowded and it was no problem getting a table on the... More

Read sites that said they are dog friendly. We drove 55 minutes to visit, buy wine and have lunch and it started raining. The outdoor area had only nets and no covered area out of rain and they would not let us in. So disappointed.

We enjoyed a late lunch and wine tasting. Everything was very good; especially the soups. The people pouring the wines knew what they were talking about and were very helpful.
