Description: Experience our region's farms, vineyards, and community. Together we...
Experience our region's farms, vineyards, and community. Together we create the wine & cuisine that defines our place – the Finger Lakes region. Come to Red Newt Cellars and allow yourself to truly taste the Finger Lakes. As a recipient of Wine & Spirits Magazine's 2011 Winery of the Year, the winemakers craft elegant, regionally expressive Finger Lakes wines with an emphasis on Single Vineyard aromatic whites such as Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Gris. Red Newt also produces world-class reds perfectly suited for the cool-climate region of the Finger Lakes: Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, and Merlot. The message at Red Newt is simple: grown here, made here. With the innovative, locally sourced Finger Lakes cuisine in the Bistro, the chefs at Red Newt are continuously working to build an awareness of regional products as well as to create lasting relationships between local farmers and restauranteurs. The menu is ever-changing, eclectic, and exciting - tailored to reflect the seasons of the Finger Lakes. The wine list, presented with the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, offers well over 200 selections from top producers in the region. With a collaborative team of winemakers and chefs, it is this synergy between the expression of wine and cuisine that sets Red Newt apart.

Takes grilled cheese to its maximum flavors and can be incorporated with meatloaf, black beans, or mushrooms. Staff was very friendly and attentive and said they use all local ingredients. It was a tad pricey for what we got, I was kind of expecting a little more but the view from the balcony was worth it.

We were traveling with a small dog and needed to find a pet-friendly place to stop for lunch. We contacted them in advance and asked if we could bring a dog to to the patio seating and they said yes. We went there on a Monday so it wasn't crowded and it was no problem getting a table on the... More

Read sites that said they are dog friendly. We drove 55 minutes to visit, buy wine and have lunch and it started raining. The outdoor area had only nets and no covered area out of rain and they would not let us in. So disappointed.

We enjoyed a late lunch and wine tasting. Everything was very good; especially the soups. The people pouring the wines knew what they were talking about and were very helpful.

This eclectic little bistro is part of the winery. You order your selection at a counter inside the tasting room and then dine on the terrace. The view from the terrace is spectacular. The bistro specialty is grilled cheese sandwiches...but not like your grandmother made! Order your sandwich and then you can have it stuffed with everything from asparagus or... More

This was our 4th trip to the Red Newt. We really enjoyed our previous visits but were disappointed with this one. We missed lunch service so we ate in the tasting room. The grill was shut off so it was only soup and cold foods. We had soup (not very hot) and the cheese and meat platter. The food was... More

Great little winery. These people really know their wine. We had a tasting which was good. We ordered a plate of cheese, meats and bread. Yummy. Sat out on the picnic tables which was nice.

Great place to start a wine tour. They have a wide range of wines available including dry, sweet, red and white. Do a tasting to find your favorite then head to the restaurant for a tasty lunch accompanied by a glass of your favorite wine from the tasting. When the weather is right you can lunch on the deck.
