Description: Experience our region's farms, vineyards, and community. Together we create the wine & cuisine that defines our place – the Finger Lakes region. Come to Red Newt Cellars and allow yourself to truly taste the Finger Lakes. As a recipient of Wine & Spirits Magazine's 2011 Winery of the Year, the winemakers craft elegant, regionally expressive Finger Lakes wines with an emphasis on Single Vineyard aromatic whites such as Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Gris. Red Newt also produces world-class reds perfectly suited for the cool-climate region of the Finger Lakes: Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, and Merlot. The message at Red Newt is simple: grown here, made here. With the innovative, locally sourced Finger Lakes cuisine in the Bistro, the chefs at Red Newt are continuously working to build an awareness of regional products as well as to create lasting relationships between local farmers and restauranteurs. The menu is ever-changing, eclectic, and exciting - tailored to reflect the seasons of the Finger Lakes. The wine list, presented with the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, offers well over 200 selections from top producers in the region. With a collaborative team of winemakers and chefs, it is this synergy between the expression of wine and cuisine that sets Red Newt apart.

We hadn't been to Red Newt for a few years so we thought we'd give the winery another try (and we are glad we did). The young lady in the tasting room was very helpful, and the wines were excellent. We will make sure we stop in again when we are there in the future.

We're fans of Red Newt's wines, so we made a point of stopping to purchase from the source when we were near them. On discovering that they also had a dining room, we took advantage of it and were quite impressed: the food was excellent (and at reasonable prices, for the quality provided) and the view from the deck was... Stopped at the Red Newt to grab a few special bottles of wine for Thanksgiving dinner. The tasting room staff were knowledgable and friendly. Our under 21 son enjoyed a perfectly frothed cappuccino and excellent grilled cheese sandwich. The deck looked beautiful, we will stop again in warmer weather! Ended up buying a case vs a few bottles....but we really... More

Was initially a bit put off by the casual dining room and seemingly limited menu, but extremely happy we had dinner here. Although the "grilled cheese" featured here is reputed to be pricey, it is worth it. The chef here has transformed the simple grilled cheese into something noteworthy. Tonight's special grilled cheese included pulled pork and blueberry on their... More

Red Newt has the finest Rieslings in New York. Period. The Restaurant has changed from very expensive haute cuisine to modestly priced bistro food that is simply outstanding. For folks looking for an elaborate, formal dinning experience this isn't the place (no doubt that accounts for some of the disappointed reviewers). If, however, you want outstanding wine paired with some... More

This was by far one of the best places to dine at in the Finger Lakes-we were there this past Sunday for what we thought was to be another memorable meal-Not So!!! They no longer have the Red Wine Flights that were very popular-they no longer have a Lunch or Dinner Menu that was once spectacular. If you like various... More

Went for a wine tasting and also got food from the bistro. Staff was friendly and pricing was okay. I'd recommend doing the food and wine tasting / pairing plate. That was really fun and delicious. Only suggestion is to make the menu and process easier to understand. Changing between the winery / bistro was pretty confusing. One bill and... More

I whole heartily agree with the two previous reviews. We stopped on a Saturday night at 7pm. The place was desolate - but they acted like they were overbooked by a mile. The only good entree, the pork loin, was sold out. We had to sit at the bar - which was empty and faces the kitchen. The window air... More

Myself and 3 friends stopped in to do some wine tasting and there wasn't a customer in the place. With that said, I still couldn't get anyone to wait on us. The girl that worked there totally ignored us to the point where we had to say "hello" to get her attention with her standing right in front of us.... More

Food contrived and over complicated. Expensive and a lousy value. Pretentious in casual surroundings. Loud and uncomfortable. Not accommodating. Skip it.
