Fun

Hibachi is usually enjoyable, you may not always be able to chose your tablemates but that is a part of the appeal of Hibachi, unless of course your own group is large enough to fill a grill. Maybe it's just me but I get a kick out of the schlocky performances most of the chefs put on, it's part... read more

Its been years since we have been to Gasho's, but it was my daughter's birthday and she remembered it as a fun place we used to go to. We made reservations and drove out. The place is run down and looks awful. The hibachi dinner was not as much fun or as appetizing as we remember. All in All a... More

To add to JJR1947's 100% accurate description of the place, I had to go here for a relative's birthday. Eight of us were meeting and this was the designated place, so I had to suck it up. When we sat down, my husband's menu contained a dead bug. Awesome! The chef never said two words to us. Isn't that the... More

As soon as I pulled into the parking lot I realized this restaurant was a mistake. Craters in the blacktop that looked like sinkholes, a broken sign on the highway, a sewer bubbling by the front entrance, "trees" growing out of the gutters...oh boy! And upon entering the restaurant on one of the most humid days of the year, there... More

We have been to Gasho in Hauppauge many times for a good dinner that was hot, fresh, and delicious. We have been entertained and interacted with the chef. Not this time! The parking lot was almost empty which is a far different experience than in the past. We walked in and nothing has been updated in quite a while. We... More

I went here with a large group of work colleagues and the boss was picking up the bill. The food and the service were fine and the two chefs at the habachi were very efficient. Unfortunately, the chef serving our half of the group was somewhat surly, but this didn't affect the taste of the food, nor our ability to... More

Not bad but not great either. Typical Hibachi. Cooks preform a show while they cook ion front of you. Meal was kind of bland.

"Who Let The Dogs Out?" Well, the Japanese Chefs are quite animated and mix their cooking skills with the personnas of juggling clowns - and I mean that in a very entertaining way! Now to the food - EXCELLENT - TASTY - PLENTY! Your choice of chicken, shrimp, scallops, steak - or mix it all together (group of 2 or... More

A group of co-workers and I descended upon Gasho's in Hauppauge for an after work bite to eat. Reservations are accepted. First impression: Walking in, you feel transported back in time, but not to a good time, more like to the late 70's & early 80's. While the restaurant is very clean, it is in DIRE need of an update.... More

The food was decent enough, although my husband didn't care for his flounder. The only entertainment by the chef was that he flung a piece of zucchini at each of us to see if we could catch in our mouth. I thought the whole premise was to be entertained by a skilled hibachi chef? Maybe that was years ago....
