A HIDDEN GEM-

First time dining here. Friends rave about it and I can see why. Very fresh sushi, cut a little generously, fresh daikon, and the only sushi restaurant on LI that actually seasons the rice-much more authentic and tasty. Huge menu and cooked items too. Decor nicer than expected. Prompt and... read more

I love Kotobuki. They have the best tuna advacado salad. Try the new rolls on the menu. This restaurant needs to be larger. It get annoying to wait so long.

They don't take reservations but when you get in, you will be treated to the freshest sushi ever. I'm here at least twice a week...

I grew up coming to this place. When I first was here, it was only half the size and always had a huge line. This was over 15 years ago. Today, this is still my first stop when I visit home. I have lived in Europe, the Southwest, the Southeast and now Florida and have not come along another sushi... More

I like sushi, and have had some of the best in New York city. If you're looking for sushi on Long Island, there is no other place to do but to Kotobuki's. The fish is always fresh and masterfully prepared. The service staff is attentive. And, the price is right. I'm not giving too many points to atmosphere because when... More

The sushi is great! I take all my friends there and everyone likes the food. By favorite roll is caterpillar roll, spicy mayonnaise is the best. I tried to make it myself but did not taste as good as the restaurants. Tuna salad or tuna carpaccio is to die for. I don't go to any other restaurant unless i am... More

The reviews were not lying. This is the sushi place by which all others should compared to. The raw fish was very fresh; no fishy smell at all. The miso soup was just like it tasted in Japan. I spent about 3 months in Japan and this restaurant is the real deal and the price is pretty good as well.... More

I'm going to mirror what a previous reviewer said. Everytime we eat sushi elsewhere it always gets compared to Kotobuki. Nothing quite compares to this place. Make sure you get there at 5 when the doors open to get a seat. Otherwise expect to wait for 1 hour. Takeout is an option but good luck getting to the counter. I'm... More

....and i usually say the sushi was good, but it's no Kotobuki! I've been going there for 20 years since it was a hole in the wall luncheonette. Great sushi. 1 Drawback = they need to put some of their earnings into hiring more staff. Since the place is small and crowded, I often do takeout but then end up... More
