This is a find. We have eaten here a few times this summer and we have always had a good experience. It has the quirkiness one would expect from a marina restaurant. They don't accept reservations and wait times can be long as people park for food and drink after boating - so caveat emptar. However, we generally go early... More

Canal Café has a perfect setting overlooking a marina and it is beautiful on a sunny day. We've had several different entrees and they were all great. Service is excellent to. It must be great, regardless of the time of day we've been there, we've had to wait, but it is well worth it.

One hour to get seated, another hour to get the food, a whole 2 hours to put up with the rude incompetent waitress AKA server 8. The portions are giant and consisted of nothing more than mediocre food. The famous lobster roll was just ok, I've had better. This one was a giant portion of finely chopped lobster, peppered with... Best food, best ambience. Down home cooking. Beats the south of France. Paper plates, plastic utensils, great owners who work the place.

The Canal Cafe isn't the place you go to if you want a fancy night out. You have to park in the marina and walk on the beach stone driveway to reach the building. But if you want good food at a good price, this is the place to go. I had a grilled tuna sandwich on ciabatta bread with... More

We ordered the Salmon salad with lemon poppy dressing and Key Lime pie-or was it lemon meringue. The view is great the prices are average for the hamptons, the quality of the food sorted fell by the wayside Might be a good place for beers but that's about it.

Hidden gem in Hampton Bays. Difficult to find and always has a crowd. I never miss it. The food is excellent, service superb, and they are dog friendly on the deck!! Not to miss!!

Spent an afternoon in Southampton as it was a beautiful day. On our way home, we decided to stop at the Canal Cafe. It is in the Hampton Shipyard at Canoe Place and the restaurant is on the dock overlooking the marina and the parade of boats which navigate up and down the Shinnecock Canal. We arrived around 3 PM... More

The place is quite nice with a view for the canal, but the food is wonderful, very fresh and well prepared seafood plates. The prices are very good. It is a more relaxed ambiance and they serve on plastic plates. But I would definitely come back!
