One hour to get seated, another hour to get the food, a whole 2 hours to put up with the rude incompetent waitress AKA server 8. The portions are giant and consisted of nothing more than mediocre food. The famous lobster roll was just ok, I've had better. This one was a giant portion of finely chopped lobster, peppered with... Best food, best ambience. Down home cooking. Beats the south of France. Paper plates, plastic utensils, great owners who work the place.

The Canal Cafe isn't the place you go to if you want a fancy night out. You have to park in the marina and walk on the beach stone driveway to reach the building. But if you want good food at a good price, this is the place to go. I had a grilled tuna sandwich on ciabatta bread with... More

We ordered the Salmon salad with lemon poppy dressing and Key Lime pie-or was it lemon meringue. The view is great the prices are average for the hamptons, the quality of the food sorted fell by the wayside Might be a good place for beers but that's about it.

Hidden gem in Hampton Bays. Difficult to find and always has a crowd. I never miss it. The food is excellent, service superb, and they are dog friendly on the deck!! Not to miss!!

Spent an afternoon in Southampton as it was a beautiful day. On our way home, we decided to stop at the Canal Cafe. It is in the Hampton Shipyard at Canoe Place and the restaurant is on the dock overlooking the marina and the parade of boats which navigate up and down the Shinnecock Canal. We arrived around 3 PM... More

The place is quite nice with a view for the canal, but the food is wonderful, very fresh and well prepared seafood plates. The prices are very good. It is a more relaxed ambiance and they serve on plastic plates. But I would definitely come back!

Hard to find. Limited parking and it is behind a marina "type building" you must drive in first then make a right and you will see it. There is in fact limited space but once you get in you will understand why this place is fantastic. The selections are good, the bar gets jammed and has delicious fruity drinks and... More

Food is decent, typical fare. Nice view of the marina. There can be a very long wait, but you can enjoy drinks on the dock in the adirondack chairs. My only complaint...they don't let you stay very long. Soon after we finished our meal and did not want dessert, We were asked to leave the dining area to allow "other... More

The view of the water is, in one word, breathtaking. Get there at sunset and enjoy a cocktail, there's nothing like it. The food is just superb, clam chowder is to die for. Service is excellent, and has never disappointed. Look forward to eating here every time we are in the Hamptons.
