We were here for a dinner prior to a wedding and it was excellent. The service was prompt and everyone was happy. The restaurant was comforting and the decor was amazing, almost like home.

I'm writing because we almost went elsewhere after reading a few of the reviews, and I'm so very glad I decided to discover for myself. We ate in the Tavern. Such a homey atmosphere, with the beautiful wood and fireplace. Our server, Todd, could NOT have done more to make our visit a pleasant one. He was prompt, gave us... More

The Colgate Inn is a good place to stay, and the bar is good place to eat if you in the mood for bar fooding, but there are better places in town to get a sit down meal.

I had been looking forward to eating here, but was so disappointed in the poor service - there was an attitude from the beginning from the waitress, and the customers beside me had a similar experience. We hadn't finished our starters when the main course was put in front of us, and the food was quite poor, but the thing... More

The food was very good and service was better. I had the steak and my wife had a salad with chicken and both were very good. They staff accomdated our wishes and allow us to add and remove items from our meals. It is a bit on the pricey side for these meals otherwise it be a 5.

The food at the Colgate inn is erratic. There are days where it is AMAZING and days where it is not good. But that is because they have different chefs, some of whom are very skilled and others who are at the amateur level. But, what makes it all fine is the amazing staff at the inn. I came to... More

Spent 4 years frequenting the Colgate Inn. The toll house cookie pie is a classic favorite amongst Colgate students, and is not to be missed. The appetizers are also excellent, in particular the truffle fries and quesadillas. The Inn recently began carrying some local beers from the Good Natured Brewery.

Visited this establishment twice while in town for 2014 Commencement. One night we sat in the bar area munching on appetizers and enjoying beer and wine, and we also enjoyed lunch in the main dining room after graduation. Service here is excellent. Friendly and attentive staff that are engaging and thoughtful. Food is prepared well with no surprises. I did... More

After hiking on the great cross country trails around Colgate, my daughter and I decided to eat at the Colgate Inn. We sat outside (first nice day!) and enjoyed a glass of wine, then went inside to enjoy a great meal. The staff was wonderful and did not hurry us at all. I was only there for the weekend visiting... Stopped at the Colgate Inn for lunch while traveling in the area. The food was very good along with good service. Menu selections were varied and plentiful. The restaurant and the Inn are beautifully decorated, immediately making the visitors feel comfortable and welcomed. I am looking forward to returning.
