Probably the nicest restaurant close to Colgate University. Lovely, intimate setting in old inn. Food and service were both excellent.

We were invited to the Hamilton Inn for a small surprise Birthday party for a close friend. What a pleasant surprise! We had never been to the Hamilton Inn before we will go back! We had a small private room off the bar area, it was cozily perfect! The gas fireplace was lit and was not too warm ...just right!... More

all the dishes were excellent, as was the service. The faltiron steak with coffee BBQ and char were standouts. They have a varied wine list with lots of price options too. Servicer provided good recommendations and was knowledgeable about the wines.

This is a favorite for business dinners, quiet, great service and good food. Off the beaten path, it is about 3 miles from the closet town, Hamilton. Yet it has been there for years...this tells you the character of the place, an upstate New York diamond.

Food was very good. Seasonal menu. Dining room was pleasant. We were seated by the fireplace on a cool evening which was very nice. Limited dessert offerings the night that we were there.

I really liked their student special night. It made it somewhat more affordable. They have the best crab and lobster bisque anywhere (and this from someone who worked in a seafood restaurant in Maryland for many years)
