I first discovered L'isola Doro when trying to find a local restaurant that had real Italian dinners for take out. We tried a nearby pizzeria that claimed to have good take out meals, but they fell short. I'm so glad we kept looking! My first meal here was the Chicken Francese as take out. It was perfection and I knew... More

We live right around the corner from this place. We have been in a handful of times. We usually get the pizza, which is really good. I have never tried their other food. The wine comes out of a box unless you order a bottle of it - and it is TERRIBLE. The white wine is served room temp. Don't... More

Hello my name is Russell I'm the manager at L'isola D'oro Restaurant. I wanted to take the time to respond to your review about our family owned and operated facility. We stride to make everyone that's walks into our restaurant happy and content. We frown when our customers leave here with unhappy thoughts. We always look forward to reading reviews... More

I often go here with my family for special occasions and sometimes for no reason at all. I see some negative reviews and just can't comprehend them. The prices are good and the food is even better. To show this, you look at how many Italian restaurants are able to last in Western New York. Not many. Now sadly the... More

There are a lof of Italian restaurants in the Buffalo area. In the southtowns this restaurant by far has the most authentic Italian taste, and as a result we've been eating there more and more regularly. The decor, it is outdated. The menu, it is boring, not in what it contains but just in look. If you know what the... More

Been here 3 times to give it a chance, not impressed. My wife has eaten here more times than we togeher, and likes it. This is mainly because of the antipasto, which I feel is the only highlight. My 1st 2x the food was avg., as was the service. 4rd and last it was less than that and waitress was... More

I've been to numerous restaurants in many areas of Italy, and am reminded of how great that food is when I visit. If you love seafood, have the Zuppa Dispesce! All the dinners are great but my favorites are Sausage Cacciatore or any of the veal dishes,

Should have gone by my first instincts when we first walked in. Looked like an Italian Restaurant from the 70s, dark, dreary. No one from the hostess that sat us to the waitress that really didn't take care of us and the waitress she seemed to be training to not take care of people to what looked like the owner... More

I first happened upon this Italian restaurant in 1999 when I was driving from Chicago to Colgate University to attend a conference. I walked into my motel late during a driving rainstorm, and the gal at the front desk directed me to L'isola Doro because it was close. They absolutely treated me like family. We stop back every time we... More

My husband and I ate there tonight and noticed right away it needs major updating. The carpet is filthy along with the outdated decor and cheap dinnerware. Menus need updating too so the food at least sounds appealing. I ordered a glass of wine which tasted very blah which shows it was probably came out of a box. Our iceburg... More

This restaurant gives a whole new meaning to italian dining. The garlic rolls are to die for. All dishes we have had in the past have been delicious and over the top. Family owned and operated all personnel are the friendliest.
