YOU MUST VISIT!!! Homemade ice cream!

Grew up as a kid going here, now I'm taking my kids! The BEST homemade ice cream! Absolutely a must visit. You can buy half gallons to take home with you. I always get the mint chocolate chip.

Both my wife and I walked to get some ice cream. It was the worst ice cream we both had. We both got something different and we both ended up throwing the ice cream out on the way home. Throwing out ice cream is like a sin in our family so it had to be really really awful! I'm surprised... More

We could use one of the picnic tables to eat our ice cream on a warm summer evening. Several friends were there also.

Thank you, Nick for keeping the family recipe alive in Hamburg! The grill offers up many lunch/dinner meals and then top in all off with the ice cream. Be prepared to wait a little, as the line can be long out front.

love this place, even though it's quite out of the way for us, and it's really commendable that place founded on ice cream has had the temerity to offer some yogurt's as well... it's pretty run-down but that only adds to the charm

Our friends introduced us to Charlaps when they moved to Colden, NY. The place is always busy because the ice cream is so good. There are many flavors to choose from including frozen yogurt and custard. Every time we go, I pick a different flavor to try and I haven't been disappointed. I ususally get a small size in a... I enjoyed Charlap's in my youth, now I visit every time I am in western New York. I look forward to going there everyday when I am in town. They have the best ice cream I have ever had. If you get the chance you should visit.

Local spot making their own ice cream...go and enjoy. Everything on the diary menu is full of frozen goodness!

Charlap's is a small ice cream parlor a half hour south of Buffalo, NY. The decor is 1950's style diner, more or less -- not fancy but clean and appealing enough. Their ice cream is very good, and the milkshakes are great. I like a really thick milkshake -- almost all ice cream and not much milk -- and if... More
