I've had a number of opportunities to eat at this establishment since arriving in Western NY because of a business venture. The food is consistently very very good. The wait staff has always been courteous and not over bearing. I would suggest to anyone who likes fish as a main course to visit this wonderful little restaurant on Lake Erie.... More

We love the view. It's casual. This is an old beach type place with an awesome view of the lake but mostly the food is amazing. Everything we've ordered here is if not very good the best I've ever eaten and the prices are very reasonable too. The burger called "steak ends" omg, mmmmm, the buffalo chicken sandwich is huge... We were with a big family group who has been involved with this restaurant for years. The view of Lake Erie was beautiful. The servers were very friendly with quick service. They were very patient with our large group and antsy little ones. The food was delicious and of great value. Parking can be a little tight, but extra space... More

This place has a wonderful view of the Lake Erie. The restaurant is small and and no frills, but the fish selection and variety is outstanding for such a small place. The fish was outstanding for everyone in our party and the view of the sunset was great.

If you are looking for seafood in the Southtowns area, look no further. The fish fry is the BEST! And the scallops are delicious. This is a no frills restaurant with great "old" Buffalo ambience.

Wow. You truly get your money's worth when you come to Hoaks! The fish fries are huge, the broiled shrimp, scallops, fish, buff styles and everything you get nearly hangs off the plate or sandwiches are piled high! This Saturday we came in for our monthly dinner with friends and wanted to sit on the patio. When we pulled in,... More

Just another fantastic meal and all around great evening at Hoaks! We had a great view of the sunset from the back room this past Saturday night. The waiter was very attentive to all of our needs for our party, had great menu recommendations and the bartender really knows how to make the best margarita I have every tasted! Since... More

Hoak's has always been known for its roast beef sandwiches. However, they serve them on something called a kimmelweck roll. This is a roll just loaded with salt and seeds (caraway?) on the top. For my taste, I would prefer not consuming all that salt and I'm sure they can provide an alternate roll. I would return again.

I had never been. The pop was flat. The bus girl said she'd get another one. She came back with another flat pop. Did she not tell the bartender? Then our waitress overheard it and said she'd get another one, which still wasn't quite right but I let it go. I ordered a cup of french onion soup. There was... More

The weather is starting to improve. The ice is gone. Time to find a waterfront attraction for a drink and a meal. Please consider Hoak's (much much better than Dug's Dive at Small Boat) Hoak's is small and has been there a long time, so shows a bit of wear and tear, but that is part of its charm. Guess... More
