We spend each summer in the area, and this is far and away the best restaurant in the area. The staff are friendly and attentive, and make you feel like they just invited you in for a meal with them. The food is wonderful; none of us has ever had anything that wasn't well-prepared and delicious. The vegetarian risotto is... More

The food is always excellent here! Mouthwatering, all the time. The chef is absolutely amazing. The owners really run a great business, and they have such a wonderful staff. I highly recommend going here! It's my choice for lunch or dinner, anytime! Vicki is of course our favorite server, so be sure to ask for her when you go! :)

Showed up with 9 ‘young’ ladies after viewing some Quilt barns in Schoharie County. We arrived for a late lunch and were seated promptly. Orders were taken and after an appropriate amount of time our food was delivered. I had ordered two of the lunch specials; New England Clam Chowder which was absolutely delicious. Then I noshed on the other... More

My mother, daughter and granddaughter live up that away so this is our go to place for special occasions. Been here several times never had a meal that wasn't excellent. Service is always the very good, but prices are not cheap. Great food never is.

We love to go to the Brasserie. Great food, wine, service and prices are expensive but reasonable and so worth it. Never rushed a great place to go for any occasion.

We have been to Mountain View Brassiere about twenty times now and if that doesn't say it all, I will elaborate. When my wife and I moved from Manhattan and Westchester to beautiful Greene County, one of our biggest complaints has been the lack of good restaurants. There are plenty of places to eat and some wonderful people in the... More

From the welcome by the hostess to the dessert, everything was just as you would want it. First was crab cakes with lobster sauce, made from pure lump crab, then perfectly cooked filet mignon and prime rib entrees. Baked potato and scalloped potatoes were heavenly. Extensive list of desserts, for which we had no room. Service was flawless. Elegant and... More

I stopped into this pleasant little restaurant on my own, returning from the catskills. It turned out to be a great surprise. I sat at the bar and ordered the wiener schnitzel with spaetzle $26. The restaurant has linen table cloths in a couple of different rooms and looked very nice. The bar tender took my order. The dinners comes... More

We never have had anything but excellent food at Mountain View. Our latest visit confirmed our earlier high opinion. It was very good. Their panna cotta was the best I have ever had, including in Italy. Sometimes I fear they come across as a bit cold and pretentious, but fortunately the food makes up for that.

Had dinner here the other night with several friends that we hadn't seen in a long time. Our food was delicious. Each of us has something different - salmon, sole, broiled seafood food and chicken parm. Each meal was excellent. We also enjoyed being able to sit and converse without feeling rushed. Terrific restaurant. Highly recommend.
