Frisky Oyster... pricey but a very good dining experience

Our second visit to the Frisky Oyster was not disappointing! My family and I enjoyed the Peconic Gold Oysters Friskafella and Grilled Lobster Quesadilla appetizers. The Crescent Farms Duck Breast and Braised Beef Short Ribs were superb entrees. Over priced (as are most good restaurants on the North... read more

Squash flowers stuffed with crab meat & goat cheese was delicious. Main course was halibut over zucchini noodles & vegetables in an tasty sauce.

Fresh and best! Excellent service, but this is not going to be a quiet cozy dining experience! It is a vital and enthusiastic space. Abuzz with conversation and laughter punctuated by silence as the food is delivered and sampled and then conversation swirls up again. Please go and enjoy... You will not regret your evening.

$34 for a dozen TINY oysters. A bit too proud of themselves. Clearly they take advantage of the summer crowd.

We source our oysters locally from Widoow's Hole, Peconic Gold, Cornell and Pipes Cove. Our oyster dishes are priced based on market value, however even though that has gone up in recent years, we actually have not raised the price in close to five years. We absolutely do not take advantage of our summer crowd. We would encourage you, and... More

Everything we had here was scrumptious! I eat mostly a plant based diet (only one in my group) and they made me an incredible meal just for the asking!. Everyone else loved their dishes, mostly fish.

Excellent, food and service professional. Comparable to Manhattan for ambience. The interior can get a bit loud, but sometimes thy is a good thing....do you really need to hear the person across the table tell you how good their meal is??? The duck was awesome. Keep up the good work lads.

We live on Shelter Island and have been going to FO for years. Have always loved this place. A cool bar and spectacular food. Always a treat. Prepare to drop more than a few bucks (expensive by NYC standards) but worth it. FYI-I prefer this place immensely off season or summer week nights when the obnoxious quotient goes down significantly.... More

Deceiving from the street front - looks like a take out place, but once inside the ambience is lovely. All of the oyster apps were fresh and delicious. Entrees of short ribs - fell off the bone; halibut - 2 nice sized pieces cooked as requested. The lobster pasta - wonderful and the scallops were wonderful. Four diners shared two... More

After spending a very long day out in eastern Long Island, this was a very nice find. Relaxing atmosphere and good food. It was a little on the expensive side, but overall we enjoyed it and would go back.
