Although small and very popular for take out - you should try the small bar for dinner. Food is first class and the service from Aceina was a delight. Perfect location within walking location to the marina and all other activities

Salamanders has been our favorite place in Greenport since last year. We enjoy their well prepared, and seasonally fresh, farm dishes. Last weekend we were there for breakfast and lunch. A better meal, there isn't. Because the dishes are made to order we expect to wait a bit longer but when my husband's huevos rancheros came we squealed with delight!... More

Wife and I had a nice dinner. I had chicken pot pie and my wife had fried chicken. Both were very good. Greenport is becoming more like the $outh fork. But still a nice place.

While Salamanders has grown into a full service restaurant, I have been using them for take out for 3 years. Their fried chicken is world class, and so are their sandwiches. Try the soft shell crab and the po' boy. Call ahead, breeze in to pick up and you can't go wrong!

Many reviewers complain about the service in Salamander. This complaint is not only true at times for Salamander, but many other restaurants on the North Folk; there is simply not enough trained wait staff to handle the summer crowds, especially on weekends. Claudia has been cooking for her loyal customers for decades in several different Salamander locations. These diners overlook... More

While walking the streets of greenport with my wife the two of us came across a unique restaurant called salamanders and decided to check it out. The moment we walked in it was like entering a calming oasis with the refreshing ac, beautiful decorations along with a friendly and accommodating staff. We were seated at a cozy table by the... I went for breakfast this morning. Waited over a half an hour for an egg sandwich although there was only one other occupied table. When I finally got my meal the bacon was so undercooked it was inedible. I would never go back.

I went to lunch on July 29, 2015, a Wednesday. I was by myself and there was only one table of two people in the restaurant. It took over a half hour to get a simple off the menu sandwich. I did go here two or three time a year and the service was always bad. It is now intolerable.... More
