Description: The Village Inn is located in the historic Ferry Village in Grand Island, New York. Its quaint, homelike atmosphere and close proximity to the Niagara River make this restaurant a popular meeting place for locals, as well as for those visiting off island. In 1988, owner Michael Carr took over The Village Inn that was previously named Lippens Grill. He changed the name to The Village Inn, which was inspired by his father. With the help of his friends and family, he renovated this 1890's building to make it the cozy eatery that it is today. At The Village Inn, we pride ourselves on creating all of our food from scratch. We are best known for our unique, culinarily adventurous soups as well as baking all of our desserts in house from homemade recipes. From our moist and sweet bread puddings to our spicy lemon tabasco clam chowder, we strive to please all taste buds. The Village Inn has customers from all over the area that come in to experience this one of a kind restaurant. You are sure to enjoy your meal served by our light-hearted, welcoming wait staff while engaging in our distinctive dining atmosphere. All of us at The Village Inn are looking forward to your dining with us while experiencing our historic niche in Ferry Village.

Prices are very reasonable. Usually a short wait as it is always busy. food is exceptional. The staff goes out of their way for you. If there's something you don't like they're happy to substitute. Can always takeout on any of the menu items.

Awesome homemade soups and desserts. The whole menu is great, but these are the stand outs for me! Highly recommended

Home cooking at its best, everything is homemade with lots of choices. Wide varied menu, waiters know the menu items (some even do the cooking and baking, from scratch). Both my sister and I ordered the salmon dish, grilled perfectly. Vegetables (green and yellow beans) were fresh from the garden - delicious! I opted for mac and cheese as my... More

From the French onion soup to the haddock fish fry, everything was superb. The Kimmelweck sandwich (a local thing) and the seafood croissant are outstanding. The butter pecan/pretzel/mud (chocolate) dessert is unique and delicious. You won't go wrong with anything they offer; highly recommend The Village Inn.

We happened by the Village Inn the other night and over all thought the place was good. Actually the food was terrific. The wine selection was fine and they pour a generous glass. Their selection of beer is excellent both bottled and draft. What was lousy was the service. It seemed as though it was everyone's first night on the... More

Located in an old home in a residential neighborhood on an island you pass over on the way to Niagara Falls, this is a bit out of the way but worth the detour. The food is always home made and tasty...especially love the soups and desserts and the Friday night fish fry can't be beat. There's a small bar and the... More

Four of us visited the Village Inn after a day of golf. We were hungry and certainly were not disappointed. The beer was cold, drinks well made and the food was excellent. We had both specials and off the menu. The cheddar, broccoli stuffed chicken over rice was amazing. Such flavor!! The burger, beef on weck and chicken with portabella... More

while it's not the Cheap Gourmets' style to re-review a restaurant without a major makeover, our recent visit, an escape from a withering winter, merits re-telling... a "black & blue" rib sandwich on superb bread, traditional club on the signature sourdough, perfectly set off with a bison brewery bock and finished with a lemon cream pie on a graham crust...
