Description: The Village Inn is located in the historic Ferry Village in Grand Island...
The Village Inn is located in the historic Ferry Village in Grand Island, New York. Its quaint, homelike atmosphere and close proximity to the Niagara River make this restaurant a popular meeting place for locals, as well as for those visiting off island. In 1988, owner Michael Carr took over The Village Inn that was previously named Lippens Grill. He changed the name to The Village Inn, which was inspired by his father. With the help of his friends and family, he renovated this 1890's building to make it the cozy eatery that it is today. At The Village Inn, we pride ourselves on creating all of our food from scratch. We are best known for our unique, culinarily adventurous soups as well as baking all of our desserts in house from homemade recipes. From our moist and sweet bread puddings to our spicy lemon tabasco clam chowder, we strive to please all taste buds. The Village Inn has customers from all over the area that come in to experience this one of a kind restaurant. You are sure to enjoy your meal served by our light-hearted, welcoming wait staff while engaging in our distinctive dining atmosphere. Well worth the drive on a very dark night

We are staying in Niagara Falls, NY and did not like our choices. Everything seemed like Italian, Indian and café or big chains. We looked at the options on Grand Island and found this wonderful place. It is well worth the 25 minute drive. They have a wonderful menu with a lot of great... read more

Decided to check this place out as I had heard good things about it. I had the french onion soup and it was really good. For a main a had the salmon which was just OK and the baked potato which was a little under cooked. For dessert I had the homemade key lime pie which was fantastic. Overall if... More

Nice little restaurant on the island. Has a bar which is a plus and they make good drinks. We used to go a lot more but rides change in my family :)

We were on the last leg of a family road trip and stayed on the island 2 nights. We were recommended this place by a young lady at the place we stayed and all 4 of us really enjoyed what we had. In fact we enjoyed it so much we came back on our last night for some good home... More

We've been disappointed with the beef on weck at a few places, but found an online coupon and decided to give it a try. We went for lunch midweek, and customers steadily came in, but it wasn't overcrowded. Service was very friendly and our orders were taken quickly. There was a good choice of beer on tap, including those from... More

We love everything about the Village Inn from the food, the friendly staff and the ambiance. All the desserts are homemade by Sarah and we always make sure to save room for one of her special treats!

Go early, if possible, to get best parking and a good table. Food is very well prepared and met our fancy. Had the fish fry, which is only available certain days a week ... it was nicely done and very tasty. Also had the Roast Beef on a Weck--nice portion, great roll and served with horseradish on the side (they... More

Don't be fooled by the muddy, pot holed parking lot. This old, creaky place still has the best beef on weck sandwich around. You can even ask the owners how they prepare it and they will tell you. Very casual and always full of the local "islanders" as clients. Desserts are usually pretty good too.
