We ate here on a saturday because we wanted the infamous pasta night. They no longer do pasta anymore:( too bad. The food was good but it is the flare of pasta night that kept us coming back.

Had dinner here before event at civic center. The red wine marinated hangar steak was great as well as french onion soup with three cheeses, the french fries were hand cut and also quite good.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Francis delivers consistently with EVERY item I've EVER had on the menu whether it's the soups that change regularly, or the amazing salads, (try asking for the veggies HOT on the Mediterranean it's amazing with chicken), to of course, pasta night. You cannot and will not, lose. You will be full, happy, have left overs, and... More

I absolutely love pasta night and their regular menu..pasta night has soo many options and chef francis is always helpful if you dont know what food or sauce would go good together, he can make 40 difference sauces;;the captain morgan cream sauce, basil pesto alfredo, a pink cream sauce....soo good, garlic bread is never ending and the triple chocolate cake... Friends had recommended this restaurant to me a while ago but I didn't realize it is right in downtown GF. Had I realized it, Sis and I would have visited last summer after our visit to the Hyde Collection. But this time we were back for the Ansel Adams exhibit (& more) and timed the visit so that we could... More

I've had Gourmet Cafe cater a party a few years ago and it was great. About a year ago, I returned for lunch and sat outside. It was nice. Went Friday evening and was not impressed. Arrived at four to meet a friend. I felt as if the waitress wasn't pleased that we were there. She did not go out... More

Certainly not gourmet food in a plastic basket. We had an inattentive waitress and the decor is nothing like a cafe.... more like a coffee shop.

The Pasta Bar they have some nights is a great value. The owner is the chef preparing your pasta of choice and he is very knowledgable of what combinations work and what does not. The portions on the regular menu are huge--one person got the eggplant parm half order and there was plenty! The staff is friendly. I will definitely... More

Doesn't have gourmet ambiance but the food was excellent!!!!! And the service was good!!! The all you can eat pasta nite provides 8 types of pasta, multiple choices of meats and seafoods, 4-5 sauces, cheeses, veggies, herbs, spices, wine - you choose just what combination you want and then it is cooked individually. During the meal, the chef came out... More

Ambience of this place is misleading. Walking in you get the impression of a "family restaurant"; metal chairs, wood edged formica topped tables, etc. But the food is outstanding and rises far above the initial visual impression. I hate to see the overworked word "gourmet" used these days, but for an informal cafe, this almost rises to the challenge. We... More
