Edgar's at Belhurst Also Serves Breakfast

In February of this year I had a two-night stay at Belhurst Castle, and had dinner on a Sunday night at Edgar's Restaurant (see separate review). The next morning, I discovered that Edgar's also serves breakfast, and I decided to go back. It was worth it. I started off with coffee ($2.25). I... read more

I was excited to go out to brunch at Belhurst with my sister in laws on the Saturday before Mothers Day. I enjoy a good brunch but this brunch is nothing special. The food was just traditional breakfast food and not even good breakfast food. French toast was dry, sliced beef was raw, meatloaf was burnt on one side, breakfast... More

I like the Belhurst castle and have stayed and eaten here numerous times. The atmosphere is amazing and the wait staff is terrific! The price very reasonable. We arrived at 1:15 and the buffet ends at 2:00. Maybe the time factor was an issue....The buffet does not appear to be attended to by refilling and freshening sitting buffet items when... More

Per my husband, this was the best prime rib he had ever had! The staff was exceptionally helpful in picking a quaint table and decorating it with decorations that I snuck in. The décor of the restaurant is consummate Victorian including the stained glass. Almost every table has a view of the lake. Great food and REALLY great service!

We've been to Edgars several times now and the meals have always been good. A group of 4 went in for dinner (no reservations on a Wed. nite in April - that was ok). The menu has a lot of choices but we enjoy something that might not be a huge portion (or a huge price). The last 2 years... More

Extremely sufficient, a extremely nice waitress, not pricy for the 4 course dinner, we were staying in the Castle so it was in the same building. Great view and atmosphere but neither of us had any complaints or bad reviews of the meal, staff or atmosphere. A extremely nice dinner, nice view of Seneca Lake, a personnel waitress staff, not a... We had dinner at Edgar's during our stay at the Vinifera Inn. We opted for the price fixe menu which included, soup, salad, entree and dessert. The soup of the day was a cold pea soup served with a lemon cream. It was good as were all of the other courses.

My husband and I had reservations for 7:15 this past Saturday. We both ordered appetizers, which came promptly. Both ordered lettuce wedge salads, that's when all went downhill! We got house salads, waited for our entrees, for over 45 minutes, after the wrong salads arrived! Other guests who arrived after us had their entrees long before we were able to... More

We celebrated our 40th at Edgar's and the food and the service was outstanding. Note that it is not an inexpensive restaurant, but the wine selection was exceptional and the meal was as well. We and the steak with a cnp 2007 wine and I must say that the pairings were spot on! Again a bit pricy for the area,... More

The staff was very accommodating when our group of ten decided on a whim to have Sunday brunch at the Belhurst. They found seating and even forgave us when we added one more making 11! Our server was absolutely awesome -- attentive, professional, a real class act. The food was yummy. As a vegetarian, I'm limited in what is available,... More
