Gourmet Dining on the Lake

We have been to Ports a numerous times and never once did it fail to impress. The surroundings are, to put it nicely, quaint. But the food is out of this world. They have about a dozen specials every night which include poultry, beef, lamb and fresh fish and seafood. Really, there is no reason... read more

We stumbled on this restaurant while visiting the Finger Lakes. It has a nice patio outside you can eat on and it overlooks Seneca Lake. We were blown away when our server started telling us about the specials of the day. There were 3 different apps, 3 different salads, and at least 10 entrees! These were all in addition to... More

Hotel food is usually not that great, was very much surprised with our food and service. Decided to try ports for dinner rather than trying to find some place near the hotel. Service was very good, had a beautiful filet, my girlfriend had the scallops('she lives in NYC and knows good dining) very much surprised on quailty of food. Service... More

They have really fresh seafood that changes daily. A super long list of specials and they all sounded great. I've never ordered anything less than great from here

It was a last minute decision to go at approx 6ish on a Saturday night, but shockingly were seated with in 10 minutes outside. From what I could see this was rare, and you should most def make a reservation in advance. I was not impressed with the basic menu, but then our very friendly waitress came over with an... More

We were told about this place and went there to eat, so glad we did. Food was spectacular and the service was great. We did not have a reservation the first night, but only waited about 10 minutes for a table. We were seated outside by fireplace, it was perfect setting. More specials than what is on menu and nothing... More

We visited Geneva for a short getaway with friends. My husband has the filet and I had the Chilean sea bass and couscous. The waitress was a little pretentious and service was slow, but the food was outstanding.

I was looking forward to Ports Cafe all week, but honestly it was just average at best. The salad appetizers were good, but the calamari/shrimp fry was way too salty. As for the entrees, the ribs were very tough and chewy, and the coho salmon served over beet risotto was tasteless. To be fair, the risotto was good but the... More

On business in Geneva we looked at Trip Advisor and saw the reviews for Ports Cafe and were not disappointed. We called about 5PM for reservation at 7PM - got lucky and got a table confirmed, The Nighty Specials list is better and more extensive than the regular menu. The group ordered from both menus and a bottle of Fingers... More

What A Delicious Surprise! WOW!! Who would have thought that my FAVORITE dinner this year was in Geneva, NY.!! The clam chowder was not too creamy and was yummy. The fried calamari as tender and crispy as is should be. I had the chicken/shrimp thai peanut sauce - great local veggies-cooked to perfection. My husband had the steak (usually complaining... More
