If you have 1/2 an hour and $3.50, stop here to eat after yoyr adventure in the Gunks or New Paltz. Hot, sweet, fresh, light Bavarian Pretzel with two tasty mustards. You will never crave a different pretzel again. Wash it down with a delightful Heffewiser beer. By the way, everything else on the menu is absolutely delicious.

It is in the middle of Nowhere,,, and it was packed. Could not believe it. We went on a Wed. night and had to wait 15mins for a table. It was worth the wait, Food was fantastic and plenty of it. Should definitely be featured on Television Show "You Gotta Eat Here"

We spend our summers in a little town nearby. I've heard of this place & this was the first time we tried it. I called for reservation same day & they were already booked. So I put our name on a waiting list for a table in about an hour. So....if you don't have reservation, use their call ahead to... More

We just happened to come across this eating establishment while on a nice June mid-week drive. The staff was so nice and the German decor is so ethnic and tasteful. Our meals were wonderful..from the raisin pumpernickel breads to every item served from start to finish. It brought back find memories of Germany that I visited 40 yrs ago. The... More

We drove an hour to give this restaurant a try. When we got there we were greeted by a really friendly hostell who told us there would be am hour wait. So worth it! We started with the corned beef strudel and Bavarian pretzel with mustard. Both were so good. If you are having beer the pretzel is a must... More

I love sauerbraten with all the trimmings but very seldom have it as it is not available too often. I make it myself usually on rare occasions but it so mice to have someone else do the cooking. I have been going past this restaurant for years but every time I have already eaten, don't have the time to stop,... More

Sort of in the middle of nowhere. It's a casual restaurant with an extensive German menu, but also some other specialties. The Wiener schnitzel (veal) was pounded thin and covered the entire platter. It was nicely done and very tasty. The sauerbraten was obviously marinated for days, as it had an excellent taste all the way through, not just a... More

For the first time in years we found a truly great german food restaurant. I had the pretzel appetizer and my husband had the herring in cream sauce. We then had sauerbraten and wiener schnitzel. Both were excellent. The wait staff is attentive and goes out of their way to please. The atmosphere is lovely. I can't wait to go... More

Who knew that there was ever good German food? Worst thing was the wait which was about a full hour. The pretzel was the best appetizer. Jaeger Schnitzel was other-worldly good, but all the entrees was great. The side-dishes were hit and miss, and the potato dumplings were spongy and flavorless. None of the group I was with could fit... More

Our party of seven dined to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday. This restaurant sits at the foot of the beautiful Shawangunks! The food was excellent! There are many delicious beers to choose from; domestic, foreign and local. No one was disappointed! The servings are huge; all of us ended up taking home doggie bags. The staff is over- the-top with... More
