After passing the Brauhaus many times we were always put off by the wait. We decided to try it mid-week and only waited 20 minutes and I am so glad we did. Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back.

Love this place! The sauerbraten and Reuben strudel are both delicious. Have to get there early or there is a very long wait usually. They do take reservations for 6 or more people. Great beer selection.

This should definitely be a restaurant to go to! Food is GREAT, especially the Reuben Strudel! We knew the portions were large (and our refrig. had no room for leftovers) so for 7 people we shared 2 appetizers, 4 main dishes and each of us had a salad and a drink. It was perfect! We had the veal schnitzel, sauerbraten,... More

What a great trip! Our timing was perfect; we got seated quickly. Be prepared to wait if you get there after 6:00 pm but then you can wait drinking a beer and enjoying their delicious pretzel. The ambiance is very nice, friendly and very helpful staff. The appetizers and the beer are a meal in itself. The hot pretzel with... More

This place is the real deal. It you love German food and great beers there is no better place in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Make it a day, take a hike at Minnewaska State Park then stop for some cold beers and great food. Makes for a memorable day!

Stopped for an early dinner after a full day of sightseeing. We were so happy our innkeeper suggested this charming and delicious restaurant. Highly recommend!

The food was really good but had an hour wait to sit and another hour to eat. Since the food was so good it was worth the wait.

Mountain Brauhaus, if you can deal with the wait and the crowds, serves some of the best German food and drink under the sun. Located in Gardiners New York, near New Paltz, Minnewaska & Mohonk in the Shawangunk Mountain range, it is well worth the trip. Great food!

Great location with a perfect view of fall foliage even though we were late for the peak of the season. Comfortable, airy, nicely decorated room with good space between tables. Wait staff was pleasant, knowledgeable and all around terrific. We all had the delicious sauerbraten so I can't tell you about any of the other items on their very varied... More

great food, great view of the Shawangunk ridge if you can eat on the deck, excellent selection of beer. I particularly loved their french fries, but their food was excellent all around, pretty typical hearty german fare. I would've given 5 stars but initial service was a bit rigid, and a bit slow. Will definitely return, and recommend to others
