The service is excellent and most of the food was excellent. The onion soup is outstanding, the shellfish platter was fresh, the tuna appetizer tasty and the salmon entree was the best I ever had. Problem was the steaks that were ordered did not taste aged as expected. They were cooked as ordered but if this is called a steakhouse... More

This place has changed management though and Tripadvisor needs to update the name. The restaurant is now called Polo Steakhouse. Same great service and ambiance! I made reservations for my husband and step-daughter and I for our 4th wedding anniversary. It was the perfect way to reminisce of our wedding day at the Garden City Hotel!

The name of the restaurant has changed to Polo Steakhouse and sometimes disappointment comes with change. I will say, the hotel lobby has lost some of its festive look. Only one tree and some plants. The fireplace which we always take our photos was dark and boring. They need to rethink that change.I've been going to tea at the Garden... More

Went for a special occasion dinner. The dining room doubles as a lounge bar. The bar is huge, three large TVs hanging over it. The bar was packed. There is no reason why a hotel as large and nice as this should have the bar inside the dining room. It really did ruin what we hoped would be an elegant... More

This is the restaurant at the Garden City Hotel. A little dark, but quite comfortable settings; service very attentive, oftentimes more than one server and host attending to the table; polite all around. We went for lunch and had the French onion soup made with sourdough, which was pretty good followed by the Kobe Burger - delicious and cooked exactly... More

The food was good, service was excellent, but for the price, I would have expected something with more...something.

As for the flavor the food some at the table said average to bland. My biggest complaint was the lack of sides for the dishes. The appetizers although tasty were skimpy, my shrimp cocktail had FOUR (4) shrimp on a large plate (obviously trying to appear larger than the quantity of food). I was with a party of four and... While service was a little slow, it was helpful and well-meaning. Breakfasts were very good and the coffee was excellent. Many choices as well. The Sunday brunch must be seen to be believed. It is a huge display of all kinds of food.
