Great for soup dumplings

The soup dumplings are good. I tried them for the first time in Shanghai. Joe's are not as good, but pretty close. There are a few more appetizers that are worth it, but the main courses are just basic Chinese food you can get anywhere else.

We live close to Joe's Shanghai but don't visit very often for several reasons. The place is nearly always crowded so expect to wait up to half an hour or more for a table. The New York City grade, a measure of cleanliness and health standard compliance, is always a fluctuating low grade. The highest I have ever seen them... More

My wife and I enjoy visiting her old home neighborhood in Flushing Queens. As you may know Flushing has become the new Chinatown in the city. Joe's is one of the first and famous for their dumplings. They have added a branch in old Chinatown and one in the theater district. I found they also have two locations now in... More

Food was fine but service was somewhat underwhelming, despite the many staff and the speedy arrival of our order. A much talked about restaurant which was very busy, but I've eaten better food and paid less money in the area.

It was very good food. We thought the many waiters were much more interested in the TV than us though.

Great ambience and food! When visiting NYC do not forget about China Town. The dumplings served at Joe's Shangai were delicious.

This restaurant is right next to the Chinatown of Flushing, very authentic and tasteful Shanghai food, especially the steamed dumplings, very cheap price, it is very crowded that's why service is just so so, still worth a try!

We didn't try the soup dumpings - though the waiter tried to "upsell" us when we ordered other food. Good selection, fast and tasty food, though it was packed and felt a bit rushed.

I was really looking forward to eating here. I ordered the fried pork dumplings and moo shu pork. I asked for a fork which I never got. I found the insides of the dumpling flavorful enough but felt the dough was far to thick. The moo shu was flavorless. The service was terrible! I was pretty much ignored and that... More
