It has gotten good reviews. We were looking forward to some Greek food. The Gyro was barely acceptable and the souvlaki was overcooked, dry and must have been sitting around since lunch. The place was crowded. My only indication was that the customers did not know any better. The nearby Burger King has much better food for a lot fewer... More

On a recent visit to Fontana Famous pizza, as always, found the service and food outstanding. It's hard to find good Greek food outside of Greek neighborhoods, but they do it right. The food always is tasty and hot and the service I top notch, what else can you ask for.

I had the Chicken Gyro - a few $ more than I'd pay off a street cart, but the food was very tasty. I certainly plan to return again and try some of their other stuff!

I grew up going to Fontana and still love to stop by when I'm in the neighborhood. This is a really great family run business with a consistently delicious menu -- the best gyros I've ever experienced in all of the five boroughs of New York City.

When visiting family in queens, we make a point to go to Fontanas for takeout to take home to New Jersey. Huge sandwich filled with meat. The combo sandwich is also great. We were in Canada and went past a gyro stand. My wife asked if I wanted one. I said, nothing will ever be as good as from Fontanas.... More

I have very mixed feelings about this place. I used to live nearby and used to eat here all the time. The food is great for what it is: inexpensive yet satisfying Greek meat kabobs. If cheap gyros and souvlakis are your thing, this may be your place. I'd say the food is slightly better than Gyro World on 195th.... More

This was always my favorite gyro place when I lived in the neighborhood! I was disappointed! The meat was dried out and gritty! The service was sub par and the waiter never asked if there was anything else he could do for us. There are better places in the neighborhood with better service and quality.

What can I say? I'm coming here twenty years. I know the old servers on sight. Everyone I ever told about this place still goes here. All you need to do is see the THREE gyro meats spinning and you will realize they have it down! Everything is good; from the pizza to the baklava! If you've never been here-... More

I have been eating at this place for a number of years simply because the gyros are consistently big and sumptuous and the prices are pretty reasonable. When you order a gyro, you will be provided with plenty of meat so you know that your hunger will be fully satisfied when you are done eating. Yesterday, I had to eat... More
