This ice cream parlor has the charm of the old fashioned ice cream parlors complete with the penny candy and the soda fountain counter. Service was good as was the ice cream but the ice cream was the not any better or worse than any otherbrand name ice cream that you buy in the super market.

I came in to Eddie's Sweet Shop and sat down to a hot fudge sundae. The ice cream is home made and is fantastic. The counter and surroundings date far back and are wonderfully nostalgic. A great place for desert and for the family.

I came here because I saw a picture of it on Buzzfeed and I had to try! I got the banana royal with vanilla, strawberry and pistachio ice cream. It was to die for! However, it was too much for the 2 of us. we should have ordered the banana split. Either way, I highly recommend this place. Their pistachio... More

A neighborhood staple that has been serving the area for over 100 years. The old wooden back bar and marble counter top along with the ornate tin ceiling and wooden booths will take you back in time. This place has not changed and the owners want to keep it that way. Good ice cream, friendly service and the best homemade... More

Delicious homemade ice cream and whipped cream topping in a period ice cream parlor....what could be better? This is a classic soda shop...I'm glad it's still here and that it has kept most of its charm. Enjoy the space, savor the allure of a glimpse into yesteryear and the taste of rich, homemade ice cream. You will not find a... More

If you're of a certain age you may recall going to places like Eddie's Sweet Shop. This sort of shop is truly an endangered species in NYC today. For one thing, Eddie's has been chugging along practically unchanged for 100 years. In a time when folks seem to be looking for what's "new" and "special" and "different", Eddie's is a... More

Yum. Pretty simple a hundred year old sweet shop on Metropolitan Ave in Forrest Hills. All the nostalgia and history + homemade Ice cream at a fair price. A local favorite. Why would anyone go to Baskin Robbins when you have this gem in the neighborhood?

I love this place! It's like walking into an ice cream parlor from the 1950's. It's very nostalgic. Whether you go there on a date or with the family, you should just go there! It's a little pricey but definitely worth the trip. Also, their ice cream sodas are outrageous.
