You know when there is an entire table of people from India taking up half of the restaurant, it has to be authentic. The food is great and the service is too. Be adventurous and try something new. The waiter will make great suggestions if you ask for help. It's always quite loud in there so I don't recommend if... More

Sunday night Indian food @ 8:20pm. The place was still busy, but we were seated at a nice table. The food was wonderful! Great assortment of dishes on the menu- only two suggestions; The dish we ordered that was marked as being spicy hot on the menu was not all that hot, and we were not asked how hot we... More

The shortage of reviews on Tanjore is staggering. The $10 weekday lunch buffet is a bargain. The best Indian food I have had in the USA. Cooked consistently to perfection. The menu varies daily with at least 5 curries on offer, plus deserts and appetizers. The staff are always friendly and polite. I like the lunch club deal, your 10th... More

For a small local restaurant the food is as good as it gets, and rivals the best in Manhattan. They don't have the bar aspect down, so beer is a better choice, but the food is excellent and the service friendly.

Everything from the food to the service is excellent. I have eaten at a few other Indian places around the area and have yet to find another restaurant with the same quality, even Citrus in new windsor, where we were told was the best Indian around. Keep it up Tanjore!!!

This is one of those hidden gems that one finds in a strip mall. It is easily one of the most authentic Indian restaurants in the US. Everything was authentic. The Mango lassi flavored with cardamom was delicious. The rava dosa was crisp and oil free, made to perfection. The Milagu Chettinad Kozhi was the best dish I have eaten in... More

We had dinner there on April 2. There were a number of dishes you don't often see in other Indian restaurants, possibly because on the evening we were there most of the diners appeared to be Indian or Pakistani. Every dish we had was exceptional. The vegetable Samosa was tasty and grease less, the Ragada was delicious and could have... More

I really like this place. It's close to home, their buffet is fresh and tasty. Unfortunately I find it inconsistent. We ordered the biryani last week and it was soooooo salty. (I love salt, am heavy -handed in my own cooking) It was a take-out order and went straight in the trash. Please be mindful when seasoning the food....I really... More

I have been twice for lunch and have been impressed by the quality of food and the prompt service. On both occasions the main elements of the buffet were two meat-based curries and four vegetable dishes along with Tandoori Chicken, naan, rice, assorted salads and pickles and an appetizer such as pakora. Starting out with the Tandoori Chicken, I knew... More

We recently went as a group of eight for the lunch buffet which is a great way to taste a variety of Indian dishes. They had this wonderful moist pita-like bread that was great. There were chicken, fish, lentil, beef, tofu and an assortment of other yummy main courses. My favorite was surprisingly the fish stew made with some coconut... More
