We've been to just about every other sushi joint in Hudson Valley and this was the best so far! Highly recommend American Dream and M-16. Excellent!!! We will be back for the Korean BBQ

I almost did not make it into Toro on my visit. There is lots of construction in front of the entrance which closes off the parking lot area and gives the appearance the restaurant is not open. I'm glad I wandering around the construction gates to eventually find my way inside Toro. The servers are very helpful although English certainly... More

Thanks to trip advisor we used our trusty Garmin to find what turned out to be the best Korean meal we've eaten. Visiting West Point in upper state NY we decided to sample the local fare. We were surprised to find this great Korean restaurant - surprisingly in a small strip mall. They have an extremely wide range of food... More

Their Korean food is good but not excellent. Their best is Kalbi and Japchae. I go there because I love korean food and they are the only korean place in my neck of the woods. I know their name is Toro, which is Japanese for fatty tuna belly, but don't go there for sushi. If you want great sushi, drive... More

The burned out lamp for Toro's 3rd letter was not a good sign. This once popular and highly rated restaurant is falling out of favor. Located in the former space of the Cherry Blossom Restaurant, Toro is in desperate need of a good cleanup, face lift and kitchen overhaul. The carpets were dirty, our sodas came in the can, instead... More

Stopped here travelling through New York via rte 84, looking fr a quick lunch. Toro has a wide selection of Asian foods...the sushi was very good and if you sit at te sushi bar you can watch the chef. The selection of (mostly) Korean and Japanese foods was very good. The bento bx was delicious, as was the seafood rice... More

the soup tasted nice, but barely had any tofu or seaweed in. The fish salad tasted good especially they used sliced pear to lift up the freshness. The night after dinner, 1 hour later, I started a horrible belly ache, cannot blame anything else but the fish salad...

Overall we like Toro very much. We have been here with a large family group, and everyone was pleased with what they ordered. We also come here more often, just the two of us, especially for the pork gopdol. It is excellent. The atmosphere can best be described as awkward, in that we are often the only customers in the... Upon entering the Toro restaurant, we were met by a very indifferent and somewhat rude young lady. She proceded to show us to our table. The decoration is very dated and the furnishings are worn and faded. There is grease on nearly everything in the restaurant and it is clear that cleanliness is not a top priority. Prices are too... Run by a husband and wife this is the best Korean dining experience I have ever had. The food is authentic and delicious. You won't believe how delicious the Age Tofu and spicy mussels are. The hot rice bowls and the Udon soups are outstanding. Travelers must try their scallops and salmon dishes. Also their Chilean Bass. Over all a... More
