The food was ok, i had gotten the lunch special the salad had an odd peanut dressing it tasted like peanut butter and vinegar with added sugar. the main entree was good, i had the spicy basil with chicken and steamed dumplings and mini egg roll. the sides were nothing special just appetizers out of the freezer and deep fried,... We had booked a party of 25 for dinner and had gone to the restaurant 3-4 days earlier and settled on a menu. When we arrived there, they had set out the tables for us but were woefully understaffed and we had a long wait for the appetizers. This was followed by another long wait and then we saw them... Seems a bit understaffed, so service is slow. Well worth the wait, just do not be in a hurry! The food here is excellent, the atmosphere is roomy and light, so conversations are not strained.

Not a bad place. Clean and modern other then the tacky lights, you know, those cheesy ones you see in all Italian restaurants. Well...that and the song that sounded like a ringtone playing over and over and the empty restaurant. I will say in their defense though, it was early afternoon on a Friday. As for the food. Not my... More

My meals are always wonderful and the staff are always helpful. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I can always count on a great meal.

This place ia great. I almost always order green or yellow curry chicken, and I haven't gotten tired of it in over a year. It is that good. It's a nice, quiet restaurant with a friendly staff. They always make a genuine effort to make sure everyone is happy. Whenever I have customers or coworkers visiting from outside of Endicott,... More

This is my second review of 1st Thai Basil. First, service is excellent. This is a family owned and operated restaurant and service as well as atmosphere is a top priority. The center piece is the food. I continue to introduce new people to this gem on a quiet, pleasant street in Broome county. Each dish that has been presented... More

We ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup and pork Pad Thai. I thought it would be fool-proof. It was awful. I don't know what was in the soup but it left my tongue feeling slimy. No lemongrass, two tiny dry pieces of flavorless chicken and huge wedges of raw onions and celery chunks with pieces of tomato slices. It was... More

In the fall of 2013 another couple and my wife and I ate at Thai Basil. The waiter was new and fumbled around ordering the food. I ordered a spicy beef salad and and Thai Basil with chicken but when my salad arrived it was a peanut based salad, no beef at all. When the entrees arrived my Thai basil... More

I don't understand the good reviews. The restaurant looks like an out of date Italian restaurant. We should have known better; it was virtually empty on a Sat night. The sauce with the spring rolls was bottled sweet chili sauce. The other dishes were oily and bland. The peanut sauce on one of the dishes was just diluted peanut butter.... More
