This place ia great. I almost always order green or yellow curry chicken, and I haven't gotten tired of it in over a year. It is that good. It's a nice, quiet restaurant with a friendly staff. They always make a genuine effort to make sure everyone is happy. Whenever I have customers or coworkers visiting from outside of Endicott,... More

This is my second review of 1st Thai Basil. First, service is excellent. This is a family owned and operated restaurant and service as well as atmosphere is a top priority. The center piece is the food. I continue to introduce new people to this gem on a quiet, pleasant street in Broome county. Each dish that has been presented... More

We ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup and pork Pad Thai. I thought it would be fool-proof. It was awful. I don't know what was in the soup but it left my tongue feeling slimy. No lemongrass, two tiny dry pieces of flavorless chicken and huge wedges of raw onions and celery chunks with pieces of tomato slices. It was... More

In the fall of 2013 another couple and my wife and I ate at Thai Basil. The waiter was new and fumbled around ordering the food. I ordered a spicy beef salad and and Thai Basil with chicken but when my salad arrived it was a peanut based salad, no beef at all. When the entrees arrived my Thai basil... More

I don't understand the good reviews. The restaurant looks like an out of date Italian restaurant. We should have known better; it was virtually empty on a Sat night. The sauce with the spring rolls was bottled sweet chili sauce. The other dishes were oily and bland. The peanut sauce on one of the dishes was just diluted peanut butter.... More

Great vegan options. Rama Garden is opacked with vegetables and topped With excellent peanut sauce. Green curry can br made without fish oil and oyster sauce. Tofu can be steamed instead of fried.

I ordered a noodle dish and most of the ingredients were missing. No baby corns, no mushrooms, no pea pods. When I inquired, the waitress says it was a new chef and he forgot the ingredients. Also my former favorite dessert is no longer on the menu. Sticky rice with mango.

Our lunch bunch went here on Friday when they opened at 11:00 Am. In the next hour or so , it filled up pretty quickly. Our server was very prompt with water and menus and gave us some extra time to pick out our choices. When our salads came out, they were dressed with peanut sauce. One friend expressed that... More

My wife and I love Thai food and anytime we travel we eat Thai food to compare to First Thai Basil. There has never been one that stands up. If we were ever to leave the area this would be one of the things we would miss the most. Yes, the atmosphere is not the best. But we go there... More

Today's visit to Thai Basil was our first since they moved to the larger location. I like being able to walk in and get a table, but I have to admit that some of the lively atmosphere that a crowded restaurant has was lost. The huge serving of Pad Thai was nicely flavored, but could have used a few more... More
